"It was probably DiNozzo's idea. He is definitely immature enough to do something like this anyway. He has the mind of a ten year old boy," Ziva rolls her eyes at that very accurate thought.
"Well I don't know him so I'll just take your word for it," Marion says with a nod. She glances up at the.... mess and wrinkles her forehead.
"How in the hell did he manage that?" She makes vague gestures trying to figure it out. "I mean getting it all to stay balanced.... Takes time. And skill. I mean if ya all are handling this case ya don't have time to act like ten year old boys."
Most unimpressed witness ever. At least she feels that way.
"I have no idea how he managed it. If I knew, I would be him; only he knows the secrets of doing things like this. It is probably best that way though, because there is only room enough for one Anthony DiNozzo in this world and thank god because we do not need more," Ziva says.
"I think we are handling the case. We as in everyone but him, because he clearly has more important things to do to get a paycheck from the federal government, like act like a ten year old boy," Ziva moves to her desk to get a file from one of the drawers.
"So the universe would implode if there were two? Gotcha," she says with a nod and a twitch of her mouth because she really shouldn't smile too much. Might give DiNozzo ideas.
"Yeah, guess so. You saved my bacon back there with that... guy." She wrinkles her nose looking like she doesn't know what to think of what happened.
"But did ya have to throw my utility knife at him?"
It had been handy apparently. Ziva, Marion decides, is a bad ass. A very scary bad ass and that's something coming from a werewolf. Of course Marion is pretty non-violent for someone who turns into a giant wolf on full moons. Violence isn't her thing.
"It would, yes," Ziva confirms without hesitation.
"The short answer to that is, yes, I did have to. Never underestimate the power of a utility knife -- or any other thing that could be used as a deadly weapon, like credit cards, plastic utensils, or paperclips," She's serious about those, yes, and has used them all as weapons before. She's never been afraid to use violence when needed ... and maybe sometimes when not really needed because she had no patience for people (mostly meaning the suspects or the actual criminals) who made her job more difficult. Sometimes she had to be held back by a co-worker since NCIS doesn't work like Mossad works, but she'd always be tempted.
"I'm gonna miss that knife," the Texan gripes sounding just bothered as a front for being glad to be safe. In fact in the NCIS building she feels very safe. Lots of federal agents who are armed.
"It was a good knife. More legal on those camp grounds than my 'Security Blanket'." She tries to not smile too much. "But I get what you're saying. Just hard to find a good quality knife at a regular camping supply shop. I'll just have to see if Bob is still running his shop next time I go through New Mexico."
She had indicated earlier that she had been in the past a victim of a violent crime in the past and felt safer armed during their earlier meeting. Right now they're just waiting on lab work so Gibbs, Ziva, and the rest of the team can go after the man they suspect is behind the string of deaths. Marion is sure it's him because she's not as human as they are but she can't say why she's sure.
The government doesn't need to know about her condition.
If the federal agents in the building are armed, that makes Ziva practically a weapons carrier since she's got lots of stuff on her person and in her desk.
"Good knifes are hard to find, yeah. I actually have a couple of spares here that I brought from home. If you want one to take back with you. It might not be exactly the type you are used to, but maybe better than nothing for the time being at least," Ziva offers.
Ziva has to admit that this is the most interesting conversation she's had with a witness before. Partly because she finds the topic of knives a good one, but that's what happens when you're excellent with your knife use and skills. It's nice to talk to the same kinds of people about it sometimes.
Well she assumes most of the ones who go into the field are armed as well as the guards. Plus there's nice metal detectors and other things like guards.
"It's okay Agent David. I should be okay without a knife for a bit. Ain't planning on another camping trip for another month or so." She shrugs slightly. "I just like getting away for a few days here and there. Knives are... important. On my top five list for things you need if you're going into the woods. Rope comes next. Rope is very useful."
This is a good talk. It's been hard for Marion to get too friendly with people. After she was infected she wasn't willing to stay around anyone and now that time has passed and she's starting to feel better. It's easier to breath when she gets near a parking lot and she doesn't jump if someone comes up on her left side. It's so much better to feel safe around people. This is almost like her pre-infection life minus trying to sell shoes or dresses all day.
