Everyone... everyone in the towers... [She looks very distant right now, like she's not all there. Her red eyes are just staring off into the ocean blindly, seeing everything and nothing all at once.] It hurts... It's tearing my heart apart...
...Edie, you stay calm. I'm going to just... look at you, okay?
[She's talking like... well. A new telepath, really. Something he's used to. Gently he feels for her, searching for 'open' spaces in her mind that might be letting in other people's thoughts.]
They don't know their dead. They're stuck in the day. The relive it all the time... It hurts...
[She struggles within herself and it's clear she's searching. But she comes up flat when it comes to a name. Right now she's on a whole different plane it seems like and though one part of her is there another part seems worlds away.]
[It tugs back violently, which makes her head throb angrily. Causing her to throw her hands to her forehead and let out a sort of moan. She struggles with trying to remember who he was. A part of her feels like she should know but another part is focusing on what's going on around her.]
Matthew? Why... Why would I know you? Who are you?
[All of a sudden she goes very quiet her eyes fluttering shut, and then she seems to snap to looking rather worried. After all she's not in the place where she'd started the night that's for sure her first thought is to run as fast as she can and then she seems to take notice of Matthew blinking a few times as though some part of her isn't sure he's actually there.]
[It sounds easier to admit that you're drunk than admit that you're crazy and hearing things. She frowns and shakes her head.] It's just too much wine. I'm fine now.
I... I don't think so. I can't do that sort of thing.
