[ If she was expecting to not get enthusiastically hugged... well, tough. ]

[ Does Siobhan not know about personal space? Caught completely by surprise Heather hugs back, but it's brief, stiff. The hug though is welcome considering how she feels of late. ]

Whoa, steady there. It's great to see you too. It's been far too long and I have been remiss. How have you been doing?

[ She knows and she doesn't. When you're touching someone's feelings, so to speak, touching them physically seems like less of a big deal (at least to her). Not to mention that for many years her best friends were animals and they have a very different attitude about that sort of thing in general. ]

Nothing much, just sort of doing my thing. And I mean, you don't seem to be so happy.

[ Small smile. ] I hope 'doing your thing' doesn't involve hospitals again. What of the man you were with? Are you still together?

[ Stares before looking down and away. Is that a chink in the armour Heather? ] Really? What makes you say that? [ Pause and a shrug for an internal debate. ] Tough few months. Things could be better.

Oh, you mean Jaf? No, we... we didn't work out. And I haven't been to the hospital in a while now, actually.

[ Sio is good at finding chinks. Mostly because she doesn't really look for them. ] And it was just... a feeling I had.

[ She used to be a lot more up front about what she is, but things have changed. ]

Oh. I am truly sorry to hear that. Well... I can't say I'm surprised if I'm being frank. A guy who doesn't turn up at his partner's bedside is a doomed relationship just waiting to happen. I am glad to hear the last though - the less of hospitals the better. [Smiles.]

[Eyes narrow slightly.] It- Does- Does it show that much? I- [Sighs.] I've not been out or spoke with other people for a while.

He had his reasons. And don't worry, I'm a lot better at spotting stuff like that than most people.
