Lonely? What are you talking about? I've got plenty of company. [Gestures to the stack of napkins.]

[Tucks his hands into his jeans' pockets, leans a shoulder on a convenient wall.]

Do they answer you?

Do you think I'd be having a conversation with a stack of napkins if they didn't?

[Have an amused angel. And he's not amused for the reason one might think. Sure the guy is talking to a pile of serviettes, but he's also the living image of the angel's boyfriend... and talking to random objects is so very Alec that it's all perfectly acceptable]

I don't know. I guess it would depend on whether you are a monologist or a dialogist?

[He tilts his head back, and there are definitely similarities to Alec there. The eyes are wrong though. Instead of the mud brown that Alec has, these are an amber which at time glow. Also his shadow flickers by itself ignoring proper light sources. However, there's definitely traces of Alec Was Here but now abandoned ship.]

I don't believe I've ever had a towel.

[He eyes the angel curiously if a bit warily.]

I think it depends on my mood.

And perhaps on the napkins' mood, as well?

They're generally in a blah sort of mood, always afraid of being used.

In that case, I guess they need a good listener...

They do. I mean if you're afraid of being used, you'd have a lot of issues too. Especially if you know that one day you too will be used and tossed aside like no one cares about you any more.

[He makes a sad face.]

True. It's a sad destiny, that of a napkin.

[Shakes his head, in sympathy.]

No sadder than much of humanity.

I've seen very much. And though it's something that I've seen there are also other things I've seen about people.

Humanity isn't that sad. It is about as sad as a stack of napkins can be.

[And since napkins can't be sad unless you wish them to be sad because we are talking about a stack of napkins...]

Since they first started putting Names to things.

They Named me, after all.

[Named definitely sounds capitalized. He can do that. Yup.]

[Phoenix assumes the man is an alternate of Alec, seeing as he has a feel for Alec where he might not have it with anyone else. It's a little odd having the man seem a bit cautious around him, so he sticks his hands in his coat pockets and adopts a lazy-ish non-threatening posture]

How do you dry yourself after a bath?

[Alas this one has never met a Phoenix before and something about his manner makes him a bit wary. Familiarity without being familiar.]

Why do you assume I take a bath? [He is a bit scruffy looking but he also does smile.]

I assume nothing. [Followed by a cheeky little half-grin. It's true, all kinds of beings have different ways of keeping themselves clean, and if they never bath, EVER, the body scent usually gives that away... not that he's particularly close]

It's amazing how much you can learn by asking a seemingly narrow-minded question. For example? Your average human might respond with 'Oh, I prefer to shower'. If they're being, you know, evasive. And being evasive still gives me a certain amount of information. [Really, he could prattle on about this all day....]
