Really? Because I have been working on this for like an hour and I've got squat. I don't even know the feel I want. My code name is going to be Reverie which is cool but I don't want something too flowy. I've got to fight in this shit.
Has anyone ever told you Rome wasn't built in a day? I only said it wasn't hard, not that it was something you could throw together in five minutes. There's a lot of things to consider and, yes, being able to fight in it is kind of important. Start somewhere easy: do you have a color scheme in mind?
It's not a Halloween costume. Remember those aliens I told you about? Well, I'm going to be part of a team that fights them. We're also on television so I need an outfit that people can associate with me. Since the whole world is going to see it, I want it to be good but everything I'm coming up with SUCKS.
Uh, I know. *She chuckled. That was the joke only he wasn't joking. Of course it wasn't the first time she'd heard him say something along those lines but while her ego was healthy, she still couldn't keep from blushing under such lavish praise.*
Anyway, if you're awake you wouldn't need pillows or comforter capes. *She added quickly to mask her bashfulness.*
*Seamus was at a loss for words as he reigned his thoughts in on her and her dilemma. He had spent the entire morning and most of the afternoon scribbling down notes, formulas, ideas, and diagrams all over the dozens of notebooks he had purchased just after breakfast. He desperately wanted to step away from the thoughts and voices that were shouting in his head...but it wasn't until he saw her again that the noises went away.*
Umm...I got nothing off the top of my head but I wouldn't mind watching you try on a few dozen things!
*He laid it on thick and cheesy as he gave her his best puppy dog look and started to chuckle at himself.*
Oh, by the way I'm sure we could always find a use or two for some pillows and a comforter...while we were both still awake!
*His smile faltered slightly as pain shot through his skull, but it passed so quickly that he hoped she didn't notice...unfortunately he himself failed to notice the small amount of blood trickling down from his nose.*
I'm sure you wouldn't. *She teased shaking her head. Boys. Though she couldn't help but toss him a heated glance when he insinuated what they could be doing with pillows and blankets awake.*
Still not hel-- *She stopped catching sight of his bloody nose. For a moment her chest felt tight as she was reminded of his sacrifice. She didn't have any tissues so she grabbed some toilet tissue before going to clean him up.*
Yeah but I'm not trying to portray an image of unconsciousness, am I? I need something strong. I want people on Earth to look to me as a symbol of happier times while our enemies see me as a walking nightmare.
*When she approached with the toilet paper and helped him clean himself up, Seamus silently cursed himself for being so freaking weak. When she was done he took her hand and quietly whispered to her before taking the tissue paper away to toss it in the garbage can.*
Sorry pet...I hate having you see that.
*When he walked back from the kitchen he put on a smile again and carefully listened to what she was looking for in her uniform. He wracked his brain trying something that would fit well, but fashion wasn't his strongest suit.*
I uh...I guess having a row of attack sheep with numbers painted on their sides wouldn't really do it. Neither would having a fat tabby cat that likes to doze off in warm sunny spots...you could go for less subtle and just use a pillow case filled with bricks but that lacks a sense of flair!
*She didn't so much say it as show him with her eyes but it was okay. Not only could he not help the rate in which he was deteriorating but at the tender age of 18 she'd already seen so much worse.*
You'd do the same for me. *She whispered back.*
Man, you are just beating that dead horse, aren't you? *She chuckled rolling her eyes, taking her pencil back, and going back to her sketchs.*
Well... *She tilts her head and then she picks him up like he weighs nothing. Probably because she could bench press a car now.* There's that but my main ability is illusion. That's why they gave me the code name Reverie.
*She sets him down gently.* I'm still in training though.
*Harper almost asked her why someone would strike an animal corpse when a possible idea came to mind. With a small smile he tossed the thought out there.*
Pet, what if it wasn't bout what they could see? Look...the bio-armor contains a large amount of nanites inside, so what it they were given additional programming?! Wouldn't take long at all and in the end they'd be able to emit a slight subsonic pulse...the end result would be sweet!
When you turn it on, anyone who tries to look at you or get to close will be bombarded with a wave of energy...umm...pretty much anyone looks at you and their head gets fuzzy, and they get a little sleepy! The emitting pulse would be too weak to knock them out but it could, in theory, render them in a hazy fog=like state!
*Seamus quickly finished running the calculations in his head and finally grinned.*
What do you think Red? Is that a little closer to what you were looking for?
That is EXACTLY what I was thinking! You're a genius! I mean I still have to figure out the style but that is a great effect. Not to mention it might save my life.
Only... wouldn't it have the same effect on the people in my team?
It should be easy enough to modify your team's bio-armor so the pulse energy would not effect them...but pet, there is a catch. When the pulse is active it'll drain power away from the suit's regenerative abilities. The suit will still be nearly invincible but it won't be able to heal itself until the pulse is shut off!
