*It's so hard not to be able to touch Robin, but at least he can see his face. He's had to promise himself every time Robin calls that he won't get overly emotional.*
I know, love. But we're still able to see each other. How are you doing over there?
I know. *He sighs softly, setting his letters and personal effects back in his bag* I miss my family too. I've never been apart from them either, it's.. it's harder than I expected.
[He's had to promise himself the exact same thing, and it's proving difficult. If it weren't for skype, he doesn't think he'd be able to handle it. It's not the same as getting to touch Guy, of course, but it's better than just hearing his voice.]
Yeah, thank goodness for that. I'm okay. I miss you, but I think that's kinda obvious. [He lets out a soft chuckle.] We finished basic training and they shipped us out to a base in Afghanistan. It's mostly been quiet so far. Guarding sand, basically. What about you? How are things at home?
[Robin's lying on his stomach, stretched out on his bunk, and he sighs as he hugs his pillow to his chest, resting his chin on it.]So much harder. I don't think I'd be able to do it if you hadn't joined up with me.
[He makes friends easy enough, but having someone that he already knows there is helping a lot.]
[Robin almost tears up a bit when Guy touches the screen, but he smiles brighter, Guy's words distracting him.]
The rugby team? Oh, veru nice, love! [That would be great for Guy; it would give him social interaction as well as occupy his time so he wasn't constantly thinking about missing Robin.] I expect pictures of your team uniform. They still wear those tiny shorts, don't they?
Well, I wouldn't have done it at all if you weren't going.
*As soon as he says it, he realizes how it sounds and he opens his mouth quickly to backtrack* I didn't mean-.. of course, I wanted to. To be here. And I had considered it for a long time, I just hadn't been willing to go, until, well, until you decided.
[Robin tilts his head to the side, considering Much for a moment, but then... He shakes his head. Killian and the others are always teasing him that Much has a crush on him, but no, that's impossible.]
Well, either way, I'm glad to have been the deciding factor. You do make it easier.
*He really hopes he's not blushing because he feels like he is, with both the praise and the confession.*
Well, you know.. somebody has to look after you, Lieutenant. *He laughs, maybe a little louder and more forced than he intends* Lord knows you won't do it yourself!
*He laughs softly and ducks his head, just nodding* Yeah, yeah they do. I'm sure you've got your fair share of tiny shorts over there. Is it hot enough for you?
[Robin wants to argue against that, that he's perfectly capable of looking after himself, but he does have a knack for rushing headlong into things.]
And I'm sure nobody envies you the task of looking after me, Much. [He chuckles and grins.] Still. I can't wait to go home. I miss everybody. I miss nights at the pub.
[He licks his lips, glancing at Much.] We did the right thing by joining up, didn't we?
Yeah, but they're not your arse in tiny shorts. [He smirks and winks, then sighs.] Hotter than balls. I think I might die from the heat alone. You know, I never thought I'd miss the crappy London weather, but I would gladly take some rain and fog.
*Much misses it all too. His laugh softens until it's just a smile and then that fades. But at Robin's last question, he straightens up and nods quickly. If Robin had asked him anything, he would have agreed. It didn't matter. He'd agree with whatever Robin thought without question. Well. Maybe not without question.*
Of course we did. We certainly did the right thing.
You see my arse in tiny shorts enough as it is with my running gear. *He still gives a bit of an embarrassed laugh, but it passes once the subject changes* I'll be sure to send you some in your next care package. Speaking of, is there anything specific you want me to send you?
skyping?

I'm glad you're doing well. You look well, love.
It's been quiet, mostly just working and some other things. I joined the police rugby team.
