[Bart froze in his tracks when he recognized the guy, and felt sadness well up inside. He had been there...at Olsen's funeral...but there was, all grins.]
[Jimmy nodded, giving the guy an odd look at the question. He glanced down at himself, his camera clutched in one hand. He looked like himself, didn't he?] As far as I know, I am.
Should I? [Jimmy's extent of superanyone knowledge right now is the Red-Blue Blur, and the state of his being a super is still up in the air, according to the mass population. Jimmy's eager to learn.] You should tell me. I can take notes!
[Bart frowned again as he realized that he was saying waaaay too much.]
Crap, yeah she's fine! I uh, I just don't think she could resist that kicking shirt you are sporting bud! Anywho, name's Bart...old friend of Clark and Chloe.
More like would-be photographer. I'm still looking for my big break. I mostly do fluff pieces so they can get rid of me, and--
[Jimmy stopped talking at the question, blinking curiously. He was pretty happy right now. But he was sure that's not what he meant. Jimmy shrugged, might as well answer honestly, right?]
I-- No, not entirely. But what does that even have to do with anything?
[Jimmy made a face, glancing down at the button up shirt he had on. This was just work clothes that he hadn't changed out of yet.] This is purely work uniform. Are you sure you heard her right? She usually makes fun of my bow ties. [He unconsciously straightened it at the mention of it.]
[He chucked as he looked at the shirt and nodded as he did his best to keep a straight face as considered the bow tie.]
Pretty sure I heard her right, but if you wanna really make her day you should do something special!
[Bart quickly dug through his pocket and pulled out a crumpled wad of cash, and handed it over. He had been wracking his brain with thousands of questions but when he realized that he had accidentally traveled back in time, Bart struggled with what to do. It was too dangerous to alter the timeline but at the very least he could try and make Chloe and Jimmy happy in this present.]
Look, before you see her again take this cash and go grab a few dozen tulips for her! She will love it, scout's honor!
That perfect angle that has everyone talking. The picture that says everything with just one snap. Something that can speak with no words.
[Jimmy's head tilted, considering. He slowly zoomed in.]
It says you have a lot to say, and you never hold back, but you definitely don't say everything. Maybe you should. [He zoomed in even closer, concentrating on his face, getting to his eyes.]
It's important, whether people agree with me or not.
[He's only mildly surprised, he'd seen too much from being in Smallville and random occurrences in Metropolis, to really disturbed.]
Depends what you have to say. I know a couple of people who shouldn't be encouraged to say much. [He's thinking of Luthor and his influences, whether bad or good, he's never entirely sure.] But other people should talk.
[Jimmy lowered his arm, letting his camera settle around his neck by the strap, and he hesitated, nodding, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand.]
I've never really talked to her much, but I know who she is. Why?
[Bart kept his smile as he considered how to answer the questions and when Jimmy tried to snap a picture of him, he moved with imperceptible speed and opened the back of the camera up to expose the film to light, closed it again and returned to his position and offered a cheesy grin for the camera...all in the blink of an eye.]
Oh wow, yeah totally slipping here...name's Bart Allen! Met Clark and Chloe back in Smallville a few years ago, guess I'd count Clark as one of my best friends.
Anyways, kept in touch over the last few years and now I'm in town working as a courier for Queen Industries.
Had some time to kill so I thought i'd swing by and see if they were down for grabbing something to eat...thinking Thai sounds freaking sweet bout now!
[He hadn't lied bout anything, but Bart did his best to stay vague as to avoid complications and shrugged at the mention of Chloe's love for tulips.]
Not gonna lie. I had a crush on that girl back in the day, even got the chance to spend some time with her over cookies and whipped cream topped mocha lattes! But that was freaking ages ago, and I'm not one to let the past stand in the way of a kick ass friendship!
I've been going through a boring stage lately. Exciting sounds good to me right now. If you let me take your picture, it could be exciting. I like good subjects.
Uniform? [Now his curiosity peeked even more.] Are you in the army? Or something? But no, just like how you are now would be great. Casual always speaks.
[Jimmy blinked, not expecting all that information at once. But if he worked for Oliver, Jimmy knew Bart must be an okay of a guy. Not to mention friends with Clark and Chloe, and he did look vaguely familiar, but that didn't mean anything. He'd met a ton of people over time, who were friends one way or another with them. Jimmy made a face at the mention of the crush on Chloe, but he could understand it -- look at him!]
Chloe's mocha lattes are awesome, have you had them? And not the ones from that coffee shop knockoff by the Planet.
[Not what Jimmy was expecting to hear. He looked at Matthew with a new respect. He didn't really understand exactly what that meant, but just from knowing what went on around here, it probably wasn't the very good. So living through that? Could be all kinds of amazing (or not, depending your opinion).]
Or what you're wearing now? That's good, too. I'm flexible.
[If Jimmy had a reason to be scared right that moment, he wouldn't agree to that. In actuality, he hadn't had that many reasons to be tested, fear wise.]
About me? [Jimmy made a face.] What would you want to know about me for? I'm fairly boring. Nothing remarkable about me. [Not yet, anyway. Someday he wouldn't be saying that.] But yes, tea. Are you ready?
[He chuckled for a moment and shook his head in response to the question.]
Can't say that I've had the pleasure. Last time we uh, we hung out was back in the barn on Kent Farm, but before that we grabbed the mocha lattes over at the Talon! Those were really good...so were the giant cookies too now that I think about it!

Jimmy Olsen, s-sir. [There was a slight stammer to his words.] Photographer for the Daily Planet.

Matthew Callahan. Designate: Threshold. Are you gay, Jimmy?

no subject
Just curious, since you called me photogenic.
no subject
And oh... Nice to meet you then, Bart.
no subject
[Jimmy raised his camera, looking at him through it.]
The camera lens never lies. It knows things other people don't.
no subject
Does it, now? Hm. And what would your camera say about me, Jimmy?
no subject
Pretty sure I heard her right, but if you wanna really make her day you should do something special!

[The one eye, of course, doesn't blink - it's simply cold, dead metal.]
Saying too much gets you killed. Did you know that, Jimmy?
no subject
[He's only mildly surprised, he'd seen too much from being in Smallville and random occurrences in Metropolis, to really disturbed.]
Depends what you have to say. I know a couple of people who shouldn't be encouraged to say much. [He's thinking of Luthor and his influences, whether bad or good, he's never entirely sure.] But other people should talk.
no subject
Who exactly are you again? I feel like I should know you, but... How exactly do you know Chloe and CK?
[Jimmy doesn't take the money from him, and instead lifts the camera, taking a quick shot of him, for later investigation.]
How do you know about Chloe's love of tulips?
no subject
I have. It's cost me some, although I like to think it's worth it.
Do you know a Tess Mercer, Jimmy?
no subject
I've never really talked to her much, but I know who she is. Why?

So. Human cub photographer extraordinaire. Is that about right?
no subject
[He needed that awe inspiring picture first.]
That sounds right. When you say it like that, it doesn't sound as exciting, though.
no subject
'Exciting' isn't always good, trust me. Do you like tea?
no subject
I've been going through a boring stage lately. Exciting sounds good to me right now. If you let me take your picture, it could be exciting. I like good subjects.
[He nodded to the question.]
Tea's nice, especially flavored tea.
no subject
I will buy you a tea, then, and we can discuss what you'd do with my photograph.
no subject
Add it to my collection in my portfolio? [He grinned at his suggestion.] I could do a whole spread for it.
no subject
Oh my. Should I be wearing a tie? Or perhaps the uniform?

[Be glad Clark is still reeling from seeing you alive, Jimmy, or the biggest bearhug of your life would be commencing right about now.]

no subject
Because I like you, CK! And Perry said that my next assignment had to be on someone I know. Figure out an angle to make it news.
no subject
You're okay, Lois. Perry said my next assignment couldn't be a boring fluff piece again, and who better than you to be non-boring?
no subject
If I have a reason to be scared, I can.

Yes, I'm ready for tea.
no subject
Well, I guess you do have a point there, Olsen.
no subject
I like you, too, Jimmy but I bet Perry meant someone who isn't a co-worker.
