People hate anyone who isn't just like them.

And some differences aren't good ones. Being a serial killer, for example, or having some horrible rare disease.

Well, they're both unlucky differences.

You don't exactly choose to get sick. But, you have a damn choice when it comes to killing someone.

Not if you're mentally ill. *He smiles.* Plus, being a serial killer is hard. You can't make friends for fear of killing them, and corpses are hard to hide.

Pity for a killer? Nope. And, not when there's self-control and help out there for people who are mentally ill.
