[She isn't even going to question how Ara got into her apartment in the middle of the night, instead she'll sit up and look at her while rubbing sleep out of her eyes.]
[You left one of your windows open, Charisa. She didn't mean to wake her friend up, she had just been intending to stay for a minute. Ara had to think of something as she rummaged through the pack she took off her back.]
Nothing, sorry I woke you.
Maggie!mun here, figured my Daryl would be good for this. :)
It was quiet here and I had to give him the slip. I did not mean to wake you up.
[She had no choice with the shooting but she was going to have to leave again because he might be following as she checked the pouch on her leg carefully and ran to the window to climb out.]
[Just before Ara can get one leg over the ledge of the window, Charisa is up and over there picking the vampire up and setting her back down on the floor.]
[Ara got quiet and studied him carefully. She had never seen someone with a crossbow before. It was not not pointed at her so he must not be a Hunter.]
You can't, you are not a vampire and he is a lot stronger.
[Of course, she would be in a lot of trouble for this and she had make him stop, he did something terrible. There was the slightest redness to her eye bright, glowing eyes but she had scrubbed the tears away blocks ago to be tough. She went back to climbing out the window again.]
[Even if she couldn't do much of anything, she felt the need to keep an eye on Ara. Pulling on her boots since she was already in sweats and a shirt she opened the nightstand drawer to pull out her gun.]
[Nearly getting her pants leg caught on a loose nail as her friend grabbed her gun, Ara righted herself and jumped down onto the fire escape with a wobbly landing. Climbing down the ladder quickly, she was grabbed and tossed onto ground. Landing with her butt skidding on the pavement, it hurt but not like a human would have. Before she could stand up, she was grabbed by the hair and pulled up to look at the angry vampire. Her tiny fangs showed involuntarily as she tugged her pouch open hurriedly while he screamed at her about disobeying him before dropping her down and letting her go.
The tears start stinging her eyes again, forcing their way past her lids even as she jammed them shut and took one of her knives out. He started laughing, asking what she was going to do with that, she was too weak to even fight in training like he taught her.] You hurt Richard and had Father killed!
[Of course she won't listen, with a sigh she moves to follow Ara out so she won't loose sight of the little vampire. Landing on the fire escape she stops before letting her boots hit the first rung of the ladder. Charisa can only watch for a moment, her body falling onto a crouch causing her to look through the gap in the metal railing.
Standing up quickly as he advanced on Ara, there was no hesitation as Charisa let fire. She knew bullets couldn't kill vampires but, they sure hurt like hell and if she could by the little vampire some time then she would.]
[Her brows knit together in confusion for a moment, was he talking about the same thing as the other lady?] You mean the sick people? No, I was talking about something else..
[It was hard to listen when she was worried and angry as she looked up at the hulking Russian, sucking back tears and holding a knife in her shaky hands. It was even harder not to let her courage run away, she had known the vampire all her life and he had helped take care of her. Forcing herself up, trying to stand straight and face him like a good soldier should.
The bullet may not kill him right away but well placed it could, even normal ones as it tore at his leg and he looked up at the fire escape with malice. Barely a limp, he looked from both the woman and child before settling on Ara with a deep scowl as he moved back towards her to backhand her but with the most bravery she could muster, the silver blade was thrown like she had practiced night-after-night and it hit his chest. She had missed what she aimed for but it was enough to make him stagger back.
A glowing bullet was fired and Fedor crumpled in a heap. A man who could barely walk was leaning against the wall of the alley, letting his wounds heal.]
[Silently cursing herself as he tore his gaze away from her and started for Ara again, she lined up another shot and fired taking him in the bicep but, it didn't falter his movements. She could see the sheen of the knife from the street light as it sailed through the air to lunge into the vampire's chest.
Getting ready to fire again she lowered the gun suddenly as another bullet came from down below, the bullet glowing and taking the man down like a ton of bricks. Charisa tucked her own gun away and climbed the fire escape the rest of the way.
[It was over as quick as it started when Richard came running towards her. Her eyes were wide but it was not the first person she watched die when the UV fluid in the bullet began to burn at Fedor's fallen form. She crab-walked away from it and looked up at the fire escape as Charisa was climbing down. Her friend was alright!
She did good, she was not crying this time. Richard was still healing as he scooped her up, not even caring if it hurt. Ara wasn't sure how she felt about hugs still but it was safe there, she did know that much. The dark-haired vampire nodded his gratitude for once as he held onto Ara tightly.]
[She told you she'd be fine kiddo. Her eyes watched as Richard darted past her toward Ara and she turned around to take in the dead vampire. Charisa kept her gaze locked on Fedor for a long moment before, she finally shifted her gaze up to the other two.
Her head dipped into a nod in return to Richard, before her lips turned into a small smile as she looked to Ara who was being held tightly.]
[A little sigh and she manages to make her eyes change, it was easy when she was mad or she could think about all of the bad things.] Please don't be because I am different, see? I'm a vampire, that's who I was talking about. Us, sir.
[The small vampire couldn't help but think it, Humans got hurt very easily. She didn't want more of her friends to die trying to help her too... Ara had been staring at the burning corpse too before Richard picked her up and she didn't take her eyes off of it right away until he had burrowed her against him.
Richard did not even bother to wipe the blood from his face as he silently thanked Charisa before he found his voice. He said that is why he warned her before.]
[Her eyes slowly moved back toward the burning corpse. Hearing Richard speak suddenly she tore her gaze away and looked back to him, seeing Ara was burrowed against him.]
One down. Takes the heat off for a while....right?
[He did it, he was being all funny right now as Ara poked her head out for air finally, looking at her friend now that Richard not trying to hide her in his coat. His other wounds would be healed soon, the cuts on his face were already gone as he nodded this time.
His eyes pointed towards the alleyway, scanning it one last time as he mentions he saw no one else. It was just him. The man was unstable. He paid the humans and gave them weapons to two of their own out of jealousy which is a clear violation of their Covenant.]
[Charisa moves to stand beside Richard so she could gaze into the alleyway herself, she knew he could see better than she could but, it made her feel a bit safer to have a look herself.]
What about the humans? [It felt weird referring to the men that way but, she was standing with two vampires at the moment so she was the odd man out.]
[If there was trouble down that strip of darkness he had killed it by now or they were very good at hiding. He didn't enjoy this but it had to be done. Hopefully, there were no other surprises right now.
Finally, Richard loosened enough for her to let go better, she was still stuck there but it was alright.] Mr. Vlad and Death Dealers killed the Humans like they deserved, they still did a terrible thing too. [She didn't think she was odd and Richard had more respect for a woman who was willing to help Vampires and stand up for one.]
[As Ara spoke she settled her gaze back onto the empty, silent alley as if waiting for something to happen. Feeling a cool breeze move past her skin she turned her focus back on the pair with a nod.
After the little vampires words sunk in she moved a hand up through her hair, before letting out a faint sigh.] I'm sorry I couldn't have been of more assistance.
[It was chilly for the summer in a city like New York but in a tense situation any little thing can feel weird. Ara was looking around too, even after exhaustion began to settle in for her. An hour of running and a night of hell could wear even the strongest vampire out. Her eyes finally settled on watching her friend.] You are tough for a Human, Charisa.
[Richard shakes his head and said she did more then he would expect of a Human and she was willing to protect her, that was worth his gratitude. They would need to go for now, gesturing she should do the same so he could scatter the remaining ash that once made up Fedor's body and leave.]
[Her lips pull into a smile at the words offered to her from Ara. A nod of gratitude being given to both the tiny vampire and the other. Risa took a step back toward the fire escape in silence, since she went out the window without keys it was the only way back in.
Turning to look at the pair for a moment she heads up.] You two stay out of trouble.
[Ara couldn't smile right now, not with all of the bad things running around in her head but she did twitch her fingers in sort of a quiet wave as Richard still was not keen to let her down apparently.
He nodded in turn and mentioned they would be moving to avoid that. A silent look at the ashes and he started to kick them about with one boot to spread them from view while Charisa left. Ara had fallen asleep on his shoulder.]
