( ooc: Since I think our Rick/Maggie post is pretty much done and because Maggie never gets to see her sister. Also, au! )
When Maggie noticed Beth was gone, she sighed. The mall they were in was big enough, but now she had to find her sister. The most logical choice was the music store so Maggie went to find it on the mall map before going that way.
Stepping inside, she raised her eyebrows when she saw Beth was playing the piano. Several people had gathered around to listen so Maggie decided to take advantage of it. Getting a cup, she went over and placed it on the piano for tips.
[[OOC: Like I said, Beth is so happy to have a thread with her sister! :-D ]]
Beth hadn't minded coming to the mall with Maggie. She and her sister hadn't gotten to spend a lot of time together recently with everything going on in their lives. But when Maggie got caught up in something at one of the stores and it looked like it was going to be awhile, Beth told her softly that she would be back soon and had stepped out to take a short walk and look around.
And soon found herself in front of the music store.
Luckily, the owner of the store didn't seem to mind her playing, or the small crowd that showed up. She then looked up and saw her sister had found her, giving her sheepish smile.
When she then set the cup on piano, her eyebrows went up. Oh, she would do that. "Good thing you've got an in with the sheriff's department," she told her with a laugh, not sure if panhandling was legal in their county. "I'm gonna get my cut, right?"
"Shh. Don't say that so loudly, or people might get spooked," Maggie said with a laugh. She then raised her eyebrows. "Depends on how much we make. I do have babies to feed."
Maggie moved and sat down beside her. When someone put a dollar in the cup, she had to stop herself from laughing. It wasn't much, but it was a start. Looking at her sister, she nudged her a bit.
"Play something upbeat. I think you're depressing everyone," she laughed.
Maggie was probably right. If people thought that the sheriff might end up coming in, they might not give them tips. When her sister then threatened to keep all the money for herself, she laughed and shook her head. "Well, then. Tips are very much appreciated. I'll also take requests...if I know how to play it."
Soon enough, there was a dollar in the cup. She hadn't thought that someone would actually do it, but they had. Maybe if this went well enough, she should get a portable keyboard and take it to the town square to play. Or the UGA campus.
At Maggie's nudge, she looked down at her for a moment before stopping what she was playing. A moment later, she started playing the Peanuts theme.
Since Washington was a small town, Maggie wondered how long before her husband found out. She also wanted to tell a sob story about how her husband had taken all their money and she had none to buy baby food with, but that was probably a bad idea.
When Beth started to play the Peanuts theme, she laughed. "I hope so," she said as she made a face when someone put a quarter in the cup. "Cheap."
She then looked at Beth. "We should go to the mall in Atlanta and do this."

Don't hate her too much, Beth.
