I'm really sorry you had to go through that alone, Tara. I can't even begin to imagine how that felt. {Tucking a stray strand of hair from her ponytail.}
Don't be sorry, it gave me some time to think. [Granted it had only been two weeks it, still gave her enough time to think things through with what she wanted to do with her life.]
{She squeezes her friends hand in understanding.} I know we haven't been that close but I want you to know I'm here as a friend when your ready to talk.
[So far the only person who knew anything that was going on in Tara's mind had been her lawyer. A part of her wanted that to change though to have somebody else she might be able to confine in. There was no way this was coming up to Gemma or anybody else -- not even Jax until it was time.] I'll keep that in mind.
[She pushes a strand of hair away from Lyla's face.] Heard you took a hell of a beating while I was gone, how you holding up?
{Lyla shies away slightly, a gentle laugh on her lips.} As well as can be expected, trying my best to keep myself busy with the kids. So far explaining to them has been the hardest.
I can imagine. What'd you tell 'em? [She tilts her head to the side a bit, some of the wounds on Lyla's face had started to fade while others seemed to try to stand out even under makeup it seemed.]
There wasn't many an option to choose from, so I chose the later. That I'd taken a tumble at work. I've been wearing longer sleeves to hide the more prominent injuries. {sighs slightly}
The truth is enough for us to deal with, let alone them. I just wish there was a way to get them out. This life, the loss of their mother and father I fear it will be too much, you know?
