All right, that's a fair enough statement. At the same time, one could argue that it's returning, albeit in a new, unfamiliar way with the ever-rising amount of discussion over the internet and through texting. I'm honestly a little amazed at what people can convey through some of those 'text-speak'-filled messages.
Texting, Instagram, Twitter? It is hardly the same. I am talking about sitting down, looking another person in the eyes and really talking. The world is so very disconnected. I find it awfully sad.
You say that as if it is a bad thing when really it just is who I am. Was there something you wanted to talk about? Or is this a more general opening up and sharing my life story?
No, it's not bad. It's just... ironic I guess, that you brought up the lost art of conversation. There wasn't anything specific. I don't really have a lot to talk about right now. I'm tired.
Having a meaningful conversation and connecting with another person is very different from chatting about the latest gossip. Words become meaningless when all you do is talk.
Ah, yes. Twitter. I've heard of it. I, however, was not being sarcastic. I've been told it is a low form of wit. [She said with a crooked, half smile.] I am curious though, what could you tell me in one hundred and forty words that would make me forget the sarcasm?
