If you think you can manage it. A reasonable, honest discussion between two intelligent adults isn't much to ask. [There's been far too little of it lately, too many tempers bubbling over, too little sense spoken. Perhaps the time for words has long since passed but that won't stop Odin from trying, if only Loki would listen.]

[Absent his armour and without his finery, it's difficult to see Odin as much more than an ornery old man clutching a golden staff as he takes a seat across from Loki, leaning back with a sigh.] The choice, of course, is yours to make. If you prefer, we can let another day lapse without speaking, then another and then another. Perhaps in a hundred years, you'll be ready to talk.

And I'll still be waiting. [Odin means it to sound reassuring. It's a promise in its way, a promise never to lose hope and to never forsake his wayward son. Perhaps Odin owes him that much, at least.]

[Loki's face softens slowly. The fact that Odin isn't doing this in front of a room full of people means much to him, but he is wary. He has no desire to walk into any kind of a trap just because he let his guard down.]
