I've heard of chaos, as in the word. I know what it means. Never heard any song called that. I don't think.

Mmm... well maybe in song it's quite a different thing. I know in dance it definitely is. Want me to show you?

*Jamie nods, then closes his eyes and listens to the music in his head, throwing his head back as he twirls, his feet close as he moves closer to Mason, then he does a grande jete into the air, landing in a crouch in front of Mason*

What do they ask?

They ask if I'm a bottom. Or if I know about fashion. As if.

[He watches every movement like a hawk. It was graceful and beautiful. He's never seen a man in person who could move like that.] That was-- amazing.

*Jamie opens his eyes, looking at Mason* It's all I've ever wanted to do. Dance. It's the sunshine of the soul. It's the movement of the air. It's the most... the most freeing thing in the world.

*He smiles and moves back, his arms out as his feet follow deftly. He spins, jumping up into the air, doing a split that most people only dream of doing so high up, landing on pointed toes, with another spin. And really he could just keep dancing like this. He hardly ever gets the chance to anymore. This is what he loves. This is his soul*

If we sang it too often it would just get boring after a while, wouldn't it?

*He laughs lightly* It's not an actual song. There might be a song called Chaos though, but I don't know it.

I'm not that great at singing. I dance.

I didn't think so, but it wouldn't be the first time I've gone into a conversation all portentiously and then found out people were actually discussing the weather.

Oh, awesome. I'm a horrible dancer. [But she can sing, and play instruments, though she's largely forsaken the violin of her youth for horrible electric instruments that make her parents cringe.]

When you're at a club though, no one really cares how you dance. It's nice and dark.

What kind of dance do you do?

Oh you play? Nice. Is your band metaphorical too, or are you actually in one?

Contemporary dance, some ballet. I'm trying to save up for school so right now I'm mostly just dancing at a club.

Oh the band's real. We're called Lamia. I play a bit when we're writing stuff, but I just sing when we actually do shows.

[She laughs.]

I'm not good enough to play onstage with the others. They're insane.

School is insanely expensive.

Hey, singing is just as awesome, sweets. Plus, that makes you the face of the band.

Yeah, school is crazy expensive. It'll take me a while, between having to pay rent and bills.

Yes, just like that. I write on either a guitar or keyboard, when I do.

Thanks. But seriously, the other folks in the band are crazy amazing.

Yeah, it's not like rent is cheap either. I guess I could move back home or whatever, but then I'd have to deal with my parents disapproving of my life choices.

Are you guys a rock band? So you play guitar and keyboard. That's so cool. I can't play any instruments at all, though I've been thinking about trying out the piano.

Do you guys play local shows?

Rent is impossible some months. I have to scrounge so hard. *His smile fades slightly and he nods* Yeah. That part definitely sucks. I don't really have the option of going home, though.

I'd probably say we were more metal than rock, but yeah. The mainstream band we're probably most like is Tool, but with more melodic vocals and a bit more of an electronic groove underneath.

Yeah, we've got a show next Saturday at the Double Door.

[She frowns a little.] I'm sorry to hear that. If you need a job or something, I'd try applying at the Double Door. They can always use servers or kitchen people.

[She grins.] Cute guy like you could probably earn good tips doing tables, there.

Metal, of course. That was gonna be my second guess. I'm more of a Britney Spears and Lady Gaga fan, but I try and appreciate all kinds of music.

What kinda place is Double Door? Is it a bar, or just a music venue type place? *He gives her a small smile* I have a job, it pays alright. I dance at the FairyTail Lounge in Hells Kitchen. I get pretty good tips most nights, yeah.

I'm weird. [She laughs.] Hey, Lady Gaga can really sing. And she has a lot of interesting visual ideas.

It's a bar, but it's known mostly for live music. There's music every night of the week, except Thursday, which is karaoke. Which is absolutely insane.

Not many places where you can do karaoke in front of 400 people.

You're not weird! Nothing wrong with liking metal! Oh man, yeah. I was listening to some of her older stuff. She's got a really nice, strong voice. I totally tried out some of her styles for various Halloweens. So fun.

Holy crap, that many people? It really gets that packed in there? Tips must be insane.

I am weird. I embrace the concept of weird. [She grins faintly. There were much weirder things about her, really.]

She does. I wish she'd actually put it more front and centre than she sometimes does. [She grins.] I bet.

It's a big place, and yeah, it gets crowded. Tips are good. And every so often, there's label people going to shows.

Then being weird is a great thing to be. I'm sure I can be weird at times, too.

I think she's brilliant. Then and now. I love how out there she is.

I wonder how ok they would be with me only working part time. I don't wanna give up the job I have now. It gives me a chance to do some dancing.

[Aeron raises an eyebrow at the first part.] I hope you kick them somewhere soft.

*He shrugs* I try to save the violence for more pressing issues.

Someone I don't know asking about my sex life is pretty urgent to me, but I've never claimed to be a pacifist.

You probably don't shake your ass on stage, though. It kinda invites those sort of questions.

I'd fall on my ass if I tried. [She chuckles.] How often do you get them?

The easier question would be, when do I not get them. To which the answer would be, on my night off. *He laughs, turning slightly to show her his butt* I mean, look at this thing. It's pretty damn cute.
