Soundwave just stares down at him blankly, quietly awaiting for the... sonic... whatever to start being something worth his time.

I'm going to continue to mock that pathetic thing of yours. It's just like you, hilarious.

[ The Master just is going to stand there looking amused. Impressive the sonic is not. With a wave of his hand, he produces the laser screwdriver from his jacket sleeve. ]

Your cherished tool of choice came out of the TARDIS toolbox.

You're still using that old thing?

[Completely innocent expression from Jack here.]

I wasn't mocking nope.

"Sorry. I've ... Spoilers." Rory flushed, remembering some of Amy's jokes on the subject, right down to the fact it didn't deal with morning wood, and paused. "You are aware how phallic it is?"

Sure you weren't.

[Of course said sonic could put him virtually out of commission since he's all electronic and stuff...so he'd better get to respecting it.]

[Points the screwdriver at the Transformer and analyzes him.]

Oh you're here again...*rolls his eyes*

We've already had this conversation.

So what if it is old? It get's the job done!

"It's a screwdriver, not a sex toy." The Doctor rolled his eyes at Rory. "And did you say spoilers? You wouldn't be related to River would you? That's her favorite word I think...besides Sweetie."

That itself would be a pretty big spoiler for The Doctor. So Rory deflected, although the Doctor might notice the slight hesitation. "I swear nine times out of ten she says that it's just to make herself seem more mysterious. And it's only you she calls Sweetie."

He grins widely. "Ah so you do know her? So does that mean we are acquainted? I must say I don't remember you...are you from my future?

Rory smiled. "Yes. And we're definitely acquainted, although you look a bit different when we are." He knew he was treading on dangerous ground there.

"Different eh...that's what River said. Seems the newer me's get to meet lots of new people. Thought I feel as though I'm at a disadvantage. You obviously know who I am but I don't know you. What's your name?"

Rory smiled. "Rory Williams. And it feels weird to know more about things than you do."

"Well Rory Williams. I look forward to meeting you again." He grins warmly.

"You've a hard road to walk between now and then, Doctor." Rory's voice was quiet. From what he'd been able to discover, he'd got the impression that this Doctor had been seriously depressed before regenerating.

And he has, though he hides it rather well. Little do they both know they shall be meeting very very soon for his song is almost over and the one who shall knock four times approaches.

"I believe you. I appreciate the warning." He does believe him because he knows whatever caused so many people to have premonitions about this approaching encounter is strong indeed.

"Good luck, Doctor. You're going to need it." Rory shook his head. "And remember that things can change."

The Doctor wasn't entirely sure what to say to that so he merely nodded his head in understanding and gave him his crooked half smile.

Sorry I might have been laughing a little. I keep remembering how I mocked you for wanting to put shelves when we first met. And it still doesn't do wood.

What do you mean again?

[ The tone of his voice becomes serious, he knows where he's been down the road when it came to screwdriver mocking. Its old hat, and he knows better than to beat a dead horse. ]

[Well Soundwave doesn't do much, to his credit. He's analyzing the screwdriver while it's analyzing him. May as well. Considering it was being pointed right at his face.
