I've never been of the opinion a person should keep an animal they aren't ready to care for out of guilt, but I also don't claim to know what you want.
[be glad she's not a really big cat. Not that ocelots are anything to sneeze at, but she's still small enough to be mistaken for a very big house cat? Please don't hurt her. Also she was supposed to be gone before you got home. She just wanted to grab some food and go. You interrupted her. So now you have a cat hiding from you behind a chair.]
[Granted Cherry could walk two steps and be right at the cat, she doesn't move. Her studio apartment doesn't leave much room for either of them to venture to so instead she gingerly settle on her bed and idly watch the rather large cat.]
[She understands the words, but she's hesitant to believe them. People haven't been particularly kind to her, that's part of why she's chosen to live as a cat instead of in her regular form. Still, she creeps around the chair so half her body is visible and is looking at the woman with curious eyes. She's low to the ground, but seems less afraid because of the woman's actions.]
[She makes no sudden movements, allowing the feline time to move on her own and either grow comfortable or bolt for the door which Cherry left open. Slowly, however she lowers her hand a bit toward the ground as if testing to see if the cat will investigate.]
[her tail lashes. She glances between the hand and the door a couple times, considering her options. It's probably showing more intelligence than one would expect from a cat, but that's the risk she's taking. Hesitantly, oh so hesitantly, she inches towards the hand. She stops and stretches her head out, sniffing at the hand with her nose a few inches away. Is it really ok?]
[Cherry silently watches, her entire body relaxed as she cat continues to come out. She can see the hesitance as it moves for her hand but she doesn't reach out to coax it along, instead she just waits even as it sniffs at it. Yes, it's really okay.]
[Well. You seem safe enough. She's not about to let on that there's more than meets the eye here. But she does cross those last few inches to give your hand a proper sniff and to look up at you curiously.]
