[Hey, Taliesin enjoys an audience. Or really any attention at all. He's grinning like a Cheshire Cat while he runs through a couple songs. When he's done, or just ready to pause, he calls out.]

[Oh, boy. The guy's looking at him. Makoto nods his head, cap obscuring part of his face.]

I'm good, thanks. [A pause.] You're pretty good at that, huh.

Yeah! Almost got into a band in LA a couple years ago, but they didn't like me travelling an' I got outta that quick.

So, uh, what. You're the whole travelling musician deal?

[taliesinrhys]

Kinda. I do Ren Faires, too. Gotta costume an' everything.

[kusai]

... what's a Ren Faires? [God, he probably pronounced that wrong.]

Renaissance Faire! Touristy recreation of Medieval stuff. There's jousting an' music an' shows. And food. Overpriced crafts. It's pretty fun.

Knights? Music? Really big turkey legs? Lots of costumes from like five hundred years ago?

[Taliesin gives him a curious look.]

If you haven't seen one, you SO have to. They're fun. Just bring sunblock. Sunburn is no fun.

Kinda? There's not as many rides.

Where are you from that you haven't had turkey? That stuff is good. Kinda like chicken but with more flavor an' it makes you sleepy.

I'm from Bukuro, in Japan. Ikebukuro.

I just eat lots of yakisoba and mayonnaise. Turkey sounds hella expensive.

Turkey's not any more expensive than mayonnaise. Goes pretty good with mayo, actually.

This place is all right, but it was a pain in the ass learning English.

You think English is hard, you do not want to learn Welsh. First time I saw it I thought someone let their cat type!

It's a language spoken in Wales, in England. It's pretty awesome, it looks like gibberish at first.

Iya... [Makoto winces.] I'm pretty bad with kanji already, and that's my mother tongue.

What's kanji?

It's... they're the really difficult characters. In Japanese. Based off'a Chinese. See, there's hiragana and katakana, but those're usually just pretty simple, like. One hiragana or katakana character is equal to one syllable.

Kanji can be made up of anything from one to four syllables all on its own. I know there're some that're made up of twenty strokes.

Most of 'em, yeah. Like. Really creatively uses 'em. Lotta times not like English does.
