Corentin, my companion, is a Grey Widowmaker. { Nothing too dangerous. His breed isn't even considered one of the largest with how they only the size of a large dog at maturity.
Still. A dragon all the same. }
Perhaps you can now understand my urgency in finding him soon before someone else does.
[ooc; I hope you don't mind I poked around your character's info and grabbed some stuff I thought would be general knowledge if anyone asked around? owo;]
[He heard of this, in passing, when he was directed to the Glen. Not by the name Corentin, but enough to understand that a Grey Widowmaker was a dragon. More importantly, he also heard that the dragon acted as -]
Your security is gone? [That would be an issue.]
Do you know whether it was by foul play? [Surely, a security guard wouldn't just go missing for no reason, but whether she has confirmation of something sinister...]
I'm sad to tell you that I've never been one for physical affection.
{ It isn't too much of a lie. The only person she ever gotten used to kissing was her ward and that came from centuries of knowing each other. It isn't anything personal.
Her smile is polite and cool at once, friendly if distant. } Surely there's something else you have in mind.
[ooc: don't mind at all! if you have any questions or anything else, just feel free to ask or make up on the fly. i'm cool with either. o /]
I like to think of him as misplaced for the moment. {Gone implies something happened. She's hoping that is isn't the case. That he's simply wandered off with her or D'Arcy's knowing, curious or excited over something that his interest got the better of him.
Then again, she's been living for quiet a while and notices certain patterns happening in certain situations. }
I do have a suspicion that mischief is afoot. He would never just up and leave the store-- Not without informing my ward or I at least. { While she does hate to point fingers, there is a group that comes to mind. } There is a group of hunters floating through the city at the moment. Specialises in obtaining rare things, animals, and people.
...I see. [He doesn't have an opinion on these hunters one way or another, but it's good information to know if they might be an issue.]
[Tracking someone missing down isn't his specialty, but he's willing to give it a try. And if something does befall the dragon before he can find him - well, Stocke always has his time travel. He can jump to a node before it happens, get rid of the problem, then delay the dragon so events don't change too much.]
[And now for the price - which means he's agreeable.] In return, do you have anything that will make it easier to cause a large group of people to trust a stranger? [Which, even if he's actually planning to save lives with it, sounds... pretty sinister. But he doesn't see the need to explain himself unless she actually asks.]
{ This is her raising a single eyebrow in curiosity upon hearing what he wanted in return.
His request is an interesting one, that's for sure. It wouldn't be hard for her to create a potion or item that would ensure that sort of thing; there is no price she would not pay to ensure Corentin's safety and D'Arcy's happiness but-- }
What do you mean exactly by 'trusting' a stranger? { There are many ways that can go about. Does he want them to feel at ease around him? Want their undying loyalty? She is well-known for being exact when creating things. Best be careful. }
I need someone found because they need to pay back their outstanding debts to me and some others. They've been very… invasive.
{ The Witch pretends to be thinking about what she would offer in return for this. Considering how annoying it'll be to track this person down. }
In return-- Three items that you want from my shop, no charge and all. { She gestures to the shelves and displays that surround them, the necklaces and bracelets and knives and the like. } I can even make something for you for free. If it's possible for me to make.
[Nikki looks around before settling her gaze on the white haired woman.] Lovely trinkets but I was hoping for something more exotic. You are the one they call "witch", are you not?
The Witch if we must be technical. { All the same-- Yes. Yes she is. There's not a lot of names they can call her. } Is there something you've heard when hearing things about me?
Just that your magic is real. I didn't seek you out for anything specific at the moment. That may change later but for now I just want to browse. Give you the opportunity to wow me.
'Wow' you? { What a fascinating choice of words. She'll be interpreting that as a challenge of sorts, she supposes. }
I would hate to disappoint you then, miss. Please. Feel free to look around or ask any questions or demonstrations. I made my schedule clear for today.
You can call me-- Hmmm. I suppose Zita will work for now. It's what others call me so it'll have to do.
{ Her smile turns into a little bit of a smirk. A little bit. } A demonstration is a good idea but perhaps somewhere with more room? I do have to show my best but that requires some space.
Believing a warning from one on the approach of a catastrophe.
[There are a lot of people who won't move when someone in bright red pounds on their door and tells them they need to grab what they can and go. Part of it's probably that they don't know or trust him, but part of it has to be denial - they don't want what he's saying to happen, so they decide it won't. Not trusting just makes it easier.]
{ Still her property and shielded from prying eyes thanks to her magic. A good choice in her opinion. She gestures to be followed as she slips out from behind the counter and moves to a door that's to the side. }
{ That is quite an order. The Witch falls silent, trying to think of something that will be similar to what he wanted. }
… Yes. I think I can create something like that. { Raises a finger up so she can continue without interruption. This is an important part to get out before they continue the deal of theirs. } There will be consequences for using magic like this, you realise?
Of what kind? [Most consequences to him he can probably live with. Consequences to those the magic will be used on... well, if it's not too much, it's better than being dead. If it is something large, then he'll have to look for a different solution.]
