Indeed. Scientific experiment go-- awry, shall we say...? :: Tommy winces in sympathy. He doesn't really understand the whole spectrum of science, his own focus being mathematics and engineering, of course, but still-- he can understand the frustration behind failing at an experiment; after all, hadn't he slammed his head into the desk often enough, back when he was working on a proof for his PhD? ::
[ Way to go Pym you have a Norn looking at you funny. ]
And now I know why Daughter of Potts told me that exploring the science labs may be hazardous to my health. [ The small girl's armored up, a spear in hand, keeping a spider the size of a small dog at bay. ]
Is your magic reversible? Or is there a way to calm this beast down without it trying to chew on me? I really dislike arachnids, and it would be a loss to have to destroy it because I freaked out here.
There should be. It must be jarring for the poor girl - spiders are pretty skittish to begin with, and this can't be helping. [From behind the spider, Hank fiddles with the dial on the side of his helmet, trying to find the proper frequency.] it just needs to inhale the shrinking gas, and it should turn back to normal, but that's much easier if it's calm. [Hank had been demonstrating the gases that he used to change size prior to developing his belt when, as is unusually common in the Marvel universe, a spider got in the way of the demonstration by chance.]
Turn around. Stay calm. [The spider ignores the command, lashing out instead.] ...This is why I prefer ants - at least they listen.
[ Skuld manages to swipe the legs away so she's not hurt at least. She thinks quickly jumping up to a desk flipping her spear so that she's using the non-lethal end. ]
So guess it's fight or flight? Is there a way for you to flood the room with the gas? Because pretty sure I can make it to the door and slip out. Not sure how your Ma... Science will interact with my magic and really don't want to find out. If not, I think I can knock it out without killing it. [ Of course a spider has to be involved they're eeeeeeevil! All those limbs and eyes! Oh and here have a childish yelp from the Norn as the spider turns around to spray webbing at her. ]
Ugh! This is Mythril armor you brute! You DON'T web Mythril!
Ha. Ha. [Hank returns to full size, looking over the unconscious HYDRA soldier.] Help me get him out of here.
[SHIELD has recently discovered a HYDRA base that was top secret even by their standards. Allegedly, they were developing weapons there that made nuclear missiles look like peashooters. However, security was particularly tight, so a stealthier approach was required. Hank wasn't sure about this O'Grady fellow, who had been sent along as a SHIELD representative, but he didn't want to bring Jan along in case she got hurt (reasoning that annoyed her to say the least, but Hank figured she'd understand eventually), and Fury had insisted that someone from SHIELD should act as his back-up.]
[Unfortunately, it seems like HYDRA had prepared for the possibilty of such an infiltration method, hence the now-unconscious guard.] And here I was hoping this would be relatively simple...
As an emergency, yes. [Given how many times he's been stuck at one size or another, it was a feature that it didn't hurt to have. However, it tended to make the lab unusable without something akin to Hazmat gear until the gas dispersed, hence why it was for emergency purposes.] If you go out the door that you came in, there should be a large yellow button - press that and the room will be sealed and the gas will be spread.
[Shrinking down to a few inches tall, Hank moves around to the side of the spider and tries to distract her so Skuld can head for the door, waving his arms and doing his best impression of a fly caught in a web.] Hey! Over here!
Yellow button right. [ She's really thinking that staying in Banner's lab's less threatening. ]
[ Skuld jumped to the next table, avoiding all of his gear as she darted for the door dropping her spear on her run so she could open the door and close it behind her. She twisted one hand slightly reading his thread. He'd be fine from what she saw. ]
[O'Grady had initially found Pym to be a tad arrogant and overbearing, but it was fair to say the guy knew what he was talking about, and he did create some pretty awesome tech, especially this Ant Man gear. And the Colonel had told him to. Next to Rogers Fury was one of the few people O'Grady took seriously as a figure of authority.
Infiltrating a HYDRA base was never gonna be easy even shrunk down, but they'd clearly installed technology to detect the use of Pym Particles. Growing to full size himself he took the body from the other end.]
Speaking as a SHIELD guy, Pymie, I find it's best to expect trouble when it comes to HYDRA types. Just hope there's no Baron Strucker about. Or Red Skull. Madame HYDRA's kinda hot for a bad girl but it's probably best she'd not be about either.
