My old squadron just turned into a mid-size corporation with the occasional government contract. Which was weird enough, not like we had any plans for future profits in mind at the time.
I mean, fighter pilots-slash-"freedom fighters". In planes falling the hell apart half the time, outnumbered five to one on a good day. Not technically part of any one military, since only two of us were from countries the Axis wasn't occupying.
[and now she's giggling, because sometimes you just realize how utterly ballsy stupid some ideas were looking back on them]
I'm pretty sure we only survived because some higher power found us entertainin' or somethin'. [Frown... pause...] I'm... tryin' not to hard to think about that statement and how it might connect to my little time travel thing.
[Steve laughs and shakes his head. His story is very much the same, sick,

I know what you mean. I miss the Commandos every day. Nothing like having people you really trust at your back.
