You look happy.

[So happy, he's floating in the air... right?]

[Nathan turns, still in the air and stares a bit puzzled at speaker.]

I do?

[Alec points helpfully to the ground and the lack of Nathan's feet on it.]

They say that you can tell if someone's happy because they're walking on air.

[Nathan looks down and swears in Italian. He then drops a bit awkwardly to the ground and coughs.]

Yeah well I just wasn't thinking too hard is all. I tend to float sometimes if I'm not focused.

[Oh! Alec doesn't know those words and they sound good. He mentally files them away to look later. He feels like he should know what he's saying when he curses. At least he doesn't seem bothered by the floating or cursing.]

That's not to bad. It could be worse.

"Holy COW!" Rosemarie grimaces and sets aside her bottle of peppermint schnapps. "I mean, seriously? I think I've drunk a little too much, if I'm seeing people float around in effin' mid-air!

[Mari would be walking by and noticing her friend floating there. She smiles up at him curiously. She doesn't seem to notice that he doesn't know he's not doing it.]

Enjoying the view?

Nathan looks down. "Oh crap," he mutters in a soft raspy growl. He lands with a soft thump and looks at the young woman. "Can you pretend you didn't see that...please?"

[Nathan looks down at the sound of Mari's voice and makes that little huh noise he does when he realizes he's doing something he wasn't aware could be done.]

Oh hey...didn't realize I was floating. It happens by accident sometimes.

Yeah I know....powers kinda run in the family...and not all of them are as...normal as mine.

"Oh yes, of course, I can pretend, cutie-pie.... If, that is, you want to sit and have a drink with me." She giggles and winks at the young man in front of her, who looks awfully cute in those spectacles, or so she thinks... "I mean, honestly: I believe that we both could forget the whole damned thing, if we drink enough!"

[Her smile and overall expression would be an amused Oh really?]

Why do you think that happens? Is it just a little slip of control of your powers now and then?

Do they turn into a lemur? Ooooorrr.... when they get frustrated they turn blue with stars on their skin?

[Either Alec is messing with Nathan or he has a very different definition of not normal powers than most people. Or possibly both. Considering his pointed ears, it's likely leaning more towards the latter instead of the former.]

Better watch your head, might bump it.

[Nathan looks up and curses in Italian landing on the floor with a thump.]

Oh damm....I didn't realize I was floating.

(Uh huh. She had a feeling about that happening.)

Didn't realize? I can't imagine it. (She frowns.) Though, it seems easy enough to do.

It used to happen a lot more in the early days....now it only happens when I'm really unfocused.

Really unfocused? Did something happen? You're usually not spacin' out.

Just wool gathering I suppose. I realized it's been four years since I "died"

I think...I think I understand. I still find myself doing things like that. (She nods.) It's scary how fast time goes.

[Nathan nods.]

I know....I found myself missing Peter and then I guess up I went.

That makes sense, I think. (She frowns, in thought.) Sometimes I think of back home but I don't think I've done anything besides actually burn myself with coffee.

I'm still figuring out how my ability works and how it doesn't so I guess it's responding to my moods. Plus Peter and I...well we flew together a lot.

I was speaking more in terms of healing blood, people who become bombs that kind of thing. Though I knew a shape shifter once so she might have been able to be an animal.

I was thinking and I tend to not focus when that happens. I'm still learning how these powers work.
