"Ahh... I see... " Rosemarie grinned at the medic. "I mean, I think I see, at least! Your accent is rather-- cute, y' know...? I mean, are you German, Dutch, or-- something else I'm not thinking of?"
"I'm sorry, but-- teleporting... bread!?" Rosemarie's face dims just slightly, in obvious confusion, as she tries to recall something that the B's in German could possibly transliterate to in English... "I mean, why would-- teleporting... bread, make to keep your team alive...?"
"Yes. Ve vere using bread to test zhe safety of zhe teleporters. It started growing tumors. Vell, ve thought it vas tumors. Turns out, it vas coming alive." He seems quite amused by this strange statement, even though she looks confused.
((lmao! i l u, for srs, you Mad Medic, you.... xD))
"Oh-- oh really? I mean-- you thought it vas a tumour growing in the bread, but-- zhe bread vas actually-- growing life!? " Rosemarie winces slightly, as she recognises the other man's accent has "infected" her own, somehow. "I mean-- sorry... I don't mean to tease you about your accent-- which is still very cute!" She turns the wince up into a small smile, as she thinks it over, and suddenly realises that indeed, the ability to teleport humans would be incredibly useful, especially for a field medic such as this man appeared to be... "I mean-- that's a good idea, actually! I mean: the teleportation-- thingummy!" She laughs a little, mostly at herself, for not being able to come up with a more intelligible word than thingummy for the Teleportation Beam that this man had mentioned. "So long as the teleport doesn't cause-- any tumours in humans, that is to say!"
((Medic loves you too! [Is his accent okay? Or too much? Last post felt a bit rough with all those z's and v's.]))
He just keeps smiling. He doesn't mind when others take on his accent, it's an amusing psychological phenomena and doesn't phase him. But he can't say he's ever had his accent called 'cute'. Now it's his turn to look confused, but thankfully she's right back on to science and that brings him back from his brief derailment.
"Zhe teleporters are actually quite safe. Unless you stand on one when zhe next person comes along. Zhe Engineer and I are still vorking to find out vhy it only occurs in certain grain products."
Hm. Perhaps you should let him try experimenting. Ve are men of science....more or less. Healing is only the start. I am always trying to improve my practices and help my patients become stronger.
I still don't get what you're saying, but I'm gonna try to get it anyway. Therefore, you like both healing and hurting things.
[ Bulkhead tries to make some sense out of all of this, and as he puts his hand to his chin he ahs. ]
Oh! I get it, cause before my people went to war I used to be a builder. But now that peace ain't a thing, I'm doin' more hurtin' than buildin'. And trust me, I miss buildin' things with these two hands of mine.
((Awww! xD cheers very much for that, Medic, although-- well. Y' know, a Syringe-Gun and a bloody Bone-Saw aren't exactly things Rosemarie wants to see in a medic's kit... and nor do I, for that matter.... D= <3
and as for the accent, well... i don't think it's too much, at ALL! xD <3 like Rosemarie's stated, I think it's cute, too!))
"In-indeed. I mean--" And now Rosemarie snorts a laugh out. "I'm sorry, but-- well. I don't think that I really understand what you're saying, but. It certainly sounds interesting, at least..." And she could listen all day to men (or women!) who are passionate about a subject-- any subject at all! Even one that is completely outside her own wheelhouse.
Ja! [The Medic smiles brightly. Now they seem to be making a connection.]
I am zhe field medic. It is my duty to keep zhe team alive and strong.
You are an Engineer? [He's quite interested since the mech has mentioned he likes to build. The Medic isn't an engineer himself, but he does have some technical know-how. Certainly enough to work with his own team engineer often in order to make the incredible medi-guns.]
Every good team needs a good doc, Doc. [ He understands how it is, and Bulkhead jabs a chubby finger at his chest. ]
Eh, yeah, but ever since the war I do more breakin' of things than fixing things. Besides, these fingers weren't made for the fine art of putting delicate things back together again.
