[Malcolm's voice is tight with fury, fury he couldn't let Thea or Team Arrow see when he was telling them the news.]
It was stupid to think he could have won....stupid and selfish of me to hope.
[Stays leaning against the wall, he'll not invite that fury when he's not so good at hand to hand combat.] Not stupid really. Selfish sure, but not stupid. From what I've seen of Oliver he has beaten the odds enough times that one would consider betting on him.

Yes...Ra leaves the weapon that killed his opponent on the edge of the combat space as an way to honor the fallen. Oliver is dead.
[Malcolm stops his work out breathing hard lowering his head.]

No...I have been debating how to tell her without revealing how he died. I respect Oliver too much to spill his secrets not to mention it would bring up how I know. Telling his team will be bad enough.

I should be thinking about getting Thea out of here. Without Oliver's protection she's dead and if they learn she's my daughter they'll make it slow and I'll be forced to watch.
[But Malcolm needs the comfort the Doctor is offering, he can crack under the pressure briefly with the Time Lord around and rebuild himself stronger then before.]

After taking a moment to shut the door he leads his companion down the hallways to his private rooms and bathroom] You want a shower or a bath?

[the Doctor is naked aside from his pants as he leans in to turn the water on making sure it was hot enough before pulling the stopper and letting it fill. He turned then towards Malcolm and slowly drew him close. He wants to lecture but the man before him is already broken in ways that make him fear he could shatter. So the Doctor simply places a soft kiss to his forehead and whispers soft words in his native tongue hoping it would sooth the tired warrior. ]
I loved him like a son Doctor and he never knew it. I watched Oliver grow up and knew how strong he would become.

[Malcolm slides into the bath with a moan and tries not to lean his full weight back on the Doctor.]
I doubt I'm able to change Doctor.

Humanity has proven time and again to be one of the most resilient species ever. It's hard not to have faith in you.

I never got the chance to buy you that drink did I? Shame...I always wondered if you could get drunk.
Doubtful, I've never actually managed to get drunk, and as for that drink, no you haven't. Perhaps we should rectify that.
