"No, but you are responsible for quite a few," Chris replied, smirking.

A long, overly dramatic sigh. "But haven't I been playing nice?"

"Oh please, save the dramatics," Chris said, shaking his head. "I let you take the collar off so you could heal. What more do you want?"

He scowled. "Kate is still out there."

"Well, I could think of a few things I want." There was a curl of a smirk, but he didn't voice his thoughts further.

"We'll find her, Christopher. Don't you worry your pretty little head."

Normally Chris ignored Peter's little comments, but today he merely arched an eyebrow. "What else could you possibly want, Peter?"

"I'm not worried," he added, "I'm angry. The more time that passes, the more blood is on my hands. I should have killed her when I had the chance."

"A good bottle of wine, a rare steak. I have simple tastes." Depending on your definition of simple.

"You should have, but you didn't. No sense blaming yourself. If anyone should carry some blame it's me. I should have ripped her to shreds instead of slicing her throat."

Chris rolled his eyes. "Would you like flowers as well?"

He let out a long sigh. "I would have probably killed you if you had, it was bad enough you ripped her throat out. Yes, I understand why, which is the only reason you're still alive," he added, frowning. "Let's just say we both blew it and leave it at that."

He stood, looking at Peter. "Come on, I'm hungry and you're more pleasant when fed," he smirked.
