He'd been in enough alternate realities that a lizard singing about ice cream shouldn't have surprised him at all. Somehow, though, it did. There was just something so odd and cartoonish about the image. He grinned though, giving the lizard a nod.
"Good day for something cool and creamy, isn't it?"
It wouldn't be far off if the kind stranger actually assumed this six foot tall gecko was a cartoon character. For one thing, he had whooped up on cartoony Elmer Fudd look-alikes and dodged anvils in another dimension while on a mission, years ago. Another thing; part of his TV binge-watching involved some cartoons.
Gex stopped walking and singing, looked over his shoulder and smiled. Partially, he replied in his mimicry of an English accent. "Oh it's jolly good. Yes..." From there it changed back to his normal American voice. "One of my fave parody artists specifically has nice taste in it."
Did the guy even know the melody of the original song? It would be a fairly well known classic song.
Ace tried not to make assumptions. He chuckled at the fake British accent. It amazed him that some people thought he was British. He'd been born and raised on Io, though his ancestors had come from Britain.
"I don't many parody artists. Which one is your favorite?"
Ace hadn't used to be interested in that sort of thing. He rather was now, but being a hero didn't leave him a lot of free time.
Oh, Gex wasn't assuming about anything. He was just being his quirky, witty self. He was just joking, and the chortle from the guy made him feel glad that he seemed to get it.
"I only like a few. Between Allan Sherman, Bob Rivers, and Weird Al, that's plenty of hilarity through song."
"I'll have to look them up. I used to room with a guy and I think he listened to Weird Al a few times. I didn't pay enough attention to be sure," Ace admitted.
