Why is it almost every time I see you now you're injured? [Granted this version of the Doctor hasn't even had that minor falling out with him yet. Such is their destiny, always meeting in the wrong order most of the time.]

[Malcolm chuckles and then manages to get a good look at the Doctor in front of him and winces again this time for an emotional reason rather than a physical one.]

It's been a rough year for me. Never thought I'd see this version of you again.

[He has no idea just how hard it is for him because he doesn't know how much time has passed or what their relationship has become.]

Just trying to point out the danger they are in. They are young yet and don't have my experience.

I'm sure they understand what they're in for, but unlike you they have hope they can succeed. No offense, love but sometimes your 'experience' leaves you cynical and unable to believe in yourself or those around you.
