Screwing things up maybe? Years have been dedicated to only letting people get so close so there was never anyone around the fully understood and now there's this person who wants to share everything. This situation could go bad in a hundred different ways but it could also be the kind of once in a lifetime opportunity that people spend their who lives looking for.
