I heard a little human talking about it last night when I was with Richard but I didn't know what it was. Oh... What sort of rides then? Is it like Coney Island? I think so.
It's like one of the best places a kid gets to visit. And sorta, except a lot bigger. They have Runaway Trains and Space Mountain and the log flume and a racetrack and lots more.
Good. I'm sure you'll meet people who you want to beat up there because they're super annoying for one reason or another, but it ain't the done thing.
Little humans? Oh, I guess it sounds cool. I'm not sure what those are though... [Ara stopped, her sullen mood as of late lifting as he mentioned a racetrack.] That sounds much more cool.
I think I understand then. I know. [You were speaking to a pint sized expert on that one.]
[At first she felt excitement at the possibility of both a new friend more her own age, something she had never had before and doing things the other little humans could go do until she remembered why she couldn't.] I'm sorry but I can't. You should go with your mother if she is nice.

It's ok, I will off for a few days tomorrow myself, not sure if wifi availiable.
Tell you what, since you've been a good help with doing the side kick thing, how about I try and arrange a visit so you can find out? Probably would love to go myself anyway. And we can definitely go race karting.
Good. You're a well behaved kiddo so I know you listen well.
Why not? Please? I don't have a lot of kids to play with anymore because my Mom moved. And my Mom is boring. She doesn't like the kid rides and I can't ride the adult rides with her.
[Her eyes lit up as her exuberant attitude was about to peek from beneath the gloom until she remembered the sun and shook her head quietly, her face falling.] I would really like to Mr. Eric but the sun... [She hated the sun...]
Not really but thank you, I try very hard sometimes.
[She can't say it, sorry. Ara bit the corner of her lip quietly, she really wanted to go but the sun...] I don't either except for my brother but he doesn't count. Why not?
I'm sorry but Father doesn't want me to go anywhere. [It wasn't a total lie, after what happened with.. her... he tried to keep her indoors but there was no way she could explain why to her because of what she was either. It was a terrible dilemma for the young vampire.] Thank you for trying to be nice.
[Lynn really just wants a playmate. She's very isolated right now, and extremely bored] I don't have a brother yet, and I'm not tall enough to go on the really good roller coasters. I wish I didn't have to be young.
[Her face brightens up as she comes up with a Plan] Can my Mom talk to him? Or if you can't go to the park, can you come to my house and play? It's safe and I can protect you if something goes wrong. My Mom can too but I'm better at it.
[Damn, hadn't thought of that, though of course vampires seemed so variable in what did and didn't affect them these days. An idea did occur to him though.] Awwww. Well you know there's one in Paris too, right? That place isn't quite so sunny. That or you wear a LOT of sunscreen. [That deserves a smile, right?]
Of course you do! Having the pesky brother doesn't help. But you listen better than I probably did at your age. [Agh, those are the sort of phrases he hates saying, makes him sound so old.]
[Ara had wished for something similar as well, someone besides her twin. They were the only two children their kind had as far as she knew and that could become incredibly lonely over time, especially with the lack of a mother and a father she felt even cared.] You can have mine, he's annoying. [She neglected to mention having tried to sell him when they were younger and getting in a ton of trouble when their mother had been around. Thankfully, for once... Father made the horrible woman go away finally.]
Me too, but adults are not very good either... well most of them. [Ara shook her head with a dejected look stamped across her face.] I don't think she could, I'm sorry I can't. [The growing girl was scrambling for a way to explain without mentioning anything.] He works at night so he has to rest during the day, he's a security guard so he can't talk when he's asleep. I'm grounded too. [That wasn't very far from the truth either, but she often ignored that until caught, this once she had to stick to it though for the sake of her hurried explanation. Ara was extremely frustrated she couldn't even mention that she could easily help protect them too.]
[She could burn quite well, her mother had burned her several times for misbehaving until Father got rid of her. Ara had a thoroughly overpowering hatred/fear of the sun at this point.] I didn't know that. I wish there was a place it was night all of the time. Sunscreen doesn't work Mr. Eric, I tried a big box of different ones and the sun still hurt. [She wanted to smile but Ara just looked somewhat sad. This wasn't fair.]
[Before she would have been her usual rambunctious self and proclaimed how tough she was and call him cool but she was herself more often then not, she was starting to feel different and frustrated but despite it all, her lips lifted into a half-smile.] He is a pest, I tried to give him to someone else but I don't think it worked. [Part of her really did like her twin when she wasn't jealous of him, that was their parent's fault though and.. Fedor..] Thank you, Mr. Eric. You are still cool for an adult. What did you do to get in trouble when you were nine? [Poor Mr. Eric.]
I'm getting my brother whenever I finally turn twelve, so I can't take yours. Isn't he fun at least sometimes? Do you ever get him in trouble for stuff that you did? I've only been able to do that at school with the kids there. [Lynn realizes that she might have said too much. She is supposed to be very quiet about anything not 'normal']
It's my job to protect people. I protect my Mom all the time and she doesn't even know it so I could keep you safe really easily. Um. But... I- if you can't go, then maybe... How come you're grounded? Do you still want to be my friend? [Lynn was going to suggest sneaking out, but kids aren't supposed to sneak out to go to amusement parks, or protect people, or know when their siblings would be born.] Nevermind. But I still want to be friends.
Ditto! And wooh! Colds suck so I'm glad you're better.
[It was terrible to think a little thing like sunburn could be such a problem for Ara, especially if her parents used it s a means of punishment. But no getting to go to Disney was even worse. It was terrible seeing her so sad.]
Short of the North Pole umpteen months of the thing I don't think there's anywhere like that, kiddo. Maybe I'll think of something to make it better that you can't go.
I don't think you can just give brothers away, but at least you tried. He's not that bad, though. And thanks. Oh, so much trouble. My best friend Chris and I used to pull all sorts of pranks on the neighbours.
How do you know that? Well.. alright. He's okay, just don't tell him that. [She did have fun with her twin more often then she was willing to admit, sibling pride and those sorts of things. They did make a good team when kicking bad guy's butts... It would be even lonelier without him.] Not really, I did break one of the statues and blamed him cause we were playing a game. [Also the incident with the shuriken because he dared her to try and catch it but the girl couldn't bring that up.] Did they make you angry? [They had more in common then either could mention apparently.]
Are you going to be a soldier? [Ara let that slip by accident, still not used to interacting with other children really, her brother not counted since they grew up in the same militaristic environment.] I want to do that too. [She wanted very much to tell her how well she could fight and that she could easily protect them too but the young girl was forced to remain quiet.] I'm grounded because I never mind. Of course I do![Again true, mostly. She was speaking to the miniature queen of sneaking out, she was always off on her own until Richard rounded her up. Not many children were being raised as Death Dealers or able to field strip an M-16 either so she was not alone.] Me too. [Ara held out her own hand to shake on it.]
It's just something I know, but I won't tell your brother anything. [Lynn can't wait for her own brother, so she's having fun imagining sibling shenanigans.] Did he get in a lot of trouble? The kids at school make me really mad sometimes because they act dumb. Even when I tell them exactly what to say they get it wrong and mess up everything.
Yeah! I've already trained on a lot of weapons but Mom said that I can't get my equipment until I'm a teenager. That's not fair because I've got a really good aim. [And Lynn realizes that she said too much. But she's done that before and talked her way out of it] Sorry, my Mom says I have an overactive imagination. Kids can't be soldiers, that's just silly. [Lynn usually sticks to 'safe' subject when talking to other kids, and slipped up at the mention of military. She doesn't spend time with kids outside of school.] Okay, that's great! [Lynn holds out her hand to shake as well.]
[That was part of her kind unfortunately. Only the girl's mother did that to her and thankfully she was gone now, the worst Father would do was lecture. The girl tried to pretend she was not upset anymore, but the prospect of having fun with her favorite friend had been pretty exciting. She didn't want him to be sad too though.] I could try to invent something, there has to be something to help. Thank you Mr. Eric, I'm sorry we can't go racing. [Ara lifted her chin up quietly.]
I guess so, I was just trying to be nice. He's okay and we can kick butt together but don't tell him that, he will just get a big, dumb head. What kind? [He had her full attention again now.]
[Eric had come to figure that there was probably more disadvantages being a vampire than the perks, but he'd be glad that her father treated her better than her mother had. He wished there was some means of getting past the sunlight thing for her, every kid deserved to get to go to Disney.] That could work, I know you're a smart kid, so you could probably make an anti sunlight field or something. But we can always go racing somewhere else, there's indoor places.
Trying to get along is usually the best solution, but it's good that you can make up. Lighting firecrackers on porches, setting off the sprinkers at ill timed moments, that sort of stuff. Probably a good idea I didn't have the Ant Man suit back then.
Oh. Okay. Thank you. [They were closer then they let on actually but the way their parents and teacher had pitted them against one another sometimes caused friction between either sibling but they have had quite a few adventures together. Hopefully Lynn would get to have fun with hers too.] Of course, until she found out I did it. [The young girl frowned at the mentioning of the woman.] Why? Adults make me angry all of the time because they act dumb.
[The poor girl wanted so badly to tell her about how well she could fight and all of the weapons she knew how to use and even show her her knives but she was forced to bite her lip to silence the unspoken words.] It's alright, it was a neat story though. [Ara nodded softly, playing along since she had no choice. She never spent time with other children like this, she did not want to scare away someone who could be her friend. Most people always said something bad about vampires anyway and she was forbidden to mention it.] Good! [Ara gave her hand a solid shake very carefully before grinning.] My name is Aranka but I don't like it so you can call me Ara. What is yours?
You can't get found out next time, you gotta be more careful. [Lynn really
wants to go on adventures without adults tagging along. She thinks they
slow her down.] Adults forget how to be smart when they get older because
they're so busy trying to be like everyone else. That's why I got in
trouble at school because I told the kids how to be smarter than the adults.
...Yeah, a story. [Lynn frowns, she would love to show off what she can do
and the weapons she isn't supposed to have yet.] Just call me Lynn. Mom
named me Eunice Lynn, but I hate that name. Parents can be really strange
sometimes.

Yeah, but it's really big and has better rides. Just because you shouldn't doesn't mean you can't but if you get caught you will get in big trouble.
If I ask my Mom she will let us go, I just need her to give me money and ask her to drive us. She has to say yes!

Good. I'm sure you'll meet people who you want to beat up there because they're super annoying for one reason or another, but it ain't the done thing.
Sorry for the delay, I been holed up with a cold.
I know Mr. Eric.
Sorry for taking so long, RL.

Thanks :) Sorry you gotta poof too.

Thanks and it's all good. :)

Finally getting back to tags, I'm sorry again.

And I'm back too now, cold free. lol
