"We talking the view from a ship, darling?" There he goes being all familiar again. Just put him in his place if you need to Blaze. "Because if so, I'm inclined to agree."
[ Bulkhead is admiring the view himself as he stands there with his arms at his side. ]
And it's a nice break to get away from all that fightin' to admire a field full of... [ He scrunches his face as he peers down at some daisies by his feet. ] Flowers.
"It's not the ship, it's where you park it," she says with a chuckle. "I like getting my boots on the ground, though. The higher ground the better, but sitting in a cockpit's not the same. Don't get the same sense of what's ahead."
No, I- [ Her optics flashed brighter for a moment, as if in alarm- but then she relaxed with a snort, leaned in to jostle her friend. ] Hah! Don't have to get upset, Bill, I know you're not just a pretty face.
The flowers are nice, but I kinda like all the hills best. Being out under a real sky makes a change from working through crumbling old halls and tunnels. Not too flat, either, I don't like-
[ She blinks, turns a surprised frown up at him. ]
Han will, naturally, prefer the view from a cockpit. The ability to pilot and access to a ship equals freedom to him. And the concept of being on the ground, well, it's nice to feel dirt under your boots once in a while, but ... this guy would be terribly bored if he couldn't see all different kinds of planets.
I ain't against the hills, but there isn't anything like those daisies on Cybertron. Hills we got hills.
[ He kneels down to try and pluck a daisy from the ground with one of his big fingers, when he notices the frown on Blaze's face. He cannot help but to laugh. ]
And If pickin' a fight is what you want... [ He can't help but to laugh. ] ... I'm sure there is some Decepticons or more fallen for us to beat some sense into.
Her instincts run quite the opposite way. She's never worried much about her freedom, but she always prefers to be down where the action is. Physically moving. Heat on her armor and noise in her audios.
It's sensation-seeking, if she's truly honest with herself. The joy of exploration is secondary.
"Heh. Guess we already know how hard it is to keep you on the ground." Blaze can joke about it, but it still comes off kind of dry. "You still grounded here, though?"
Good to see you so cheerful! [ Not that Bill even made the top five of Grimmy McDourfaces she knows, but he often seemed weighed down by the responsibilities he bore. ] Probably going to need that attitude on this one.
[ Sure, the ruined city ahead looked peaceful. Almost pretty, with the flowering vines twining around empty windows and trees rising above the lower rooftops. But even on the approach, she could feel the touch of Darkness in the air. ]
[ As did the Ghost beside her. ] I'm not detecting any Fallen signals, but I have a hunch we're going to confirm the Vanguard's suspicions about this place.
...You've got a point. Kinda hard to remember you guys don't have gardens or anything.
[ What can she say? She's a simple bot with simple wants. Which apparently don't include breaks. But if Bulkhead's having trouble grabbing a daisy, she'll pick a few and offer him the bundle. ]
That's a relief. I mean- should try to avoid tearing all this up, but I'd hate to spend all day just enjoying the view. We've got Wall duty for that.
Heh. Real is a good word. The Commander always talks about the dream of the City, but you only ever see it from the outside and you almost start thinking the dream's all there is.
Suspicious little Ghost, didst thou not hear the lady? Now, be of good cheer. Consider, when hast thou e'er known us to dive rashly toward a squabble...
[With a few heavy heaves of his hammer, away Mjolnir's twin went at high speed, becoming distant as it snaked its way through the urban jungle lying before them. A golden trail of light followed the Asgardian artifact as the sensitive swindler-swatter, Stormbreaker, sought something substantial to spot in the ruins.]
Han in kind of amused by her joke. Dry or not, it kind of sounds like an innuendo to him and even though he's pretty sure the Titan didn't mean it that way ... he's got a juvenile streak.
"Soon." Han says with a faint nod. "Finally got together the funds."
Nope. And I bet I surprised you that a big tough got me has a soft spot for flowers.
[ Bulkhead lets his softer side show as he extends his hand out for the tiny flowers. Now if Miko or the other kids were around he'd ask for something to put them in, but alas he's got to make do. ] Uh, you don't happen to have something for me to put these in.
As much as I'd like to go bust some heads in, my friends wouldn't think to kindly of me if we turned this place into a wasteland.
[ there's the chirpiest buzz! from the little ghost, beaming at the view of the city that they had gotten from the climbing the veeeeery top of the ladder. ]
It's beautiful! I never thought anything could look like this in the city before. You could see everything from here. [ from the guardians running underneath them to the very edges of the wall- it was a sight to behold. ]
[ Blaze laughed, at least. The Ghost sighed, (perhaps a little melodramatically) then vanished as its Guardian and bounded over to the next rooftop, following Stormbreaker's path, trying to get a better view of the streets ahead. ]
Couple of possibilities. Might be a Fallen salvage party - maybe even some more Wolves using the ruins to lie low. They won't like being cornered if that's so. Commander Zavala's more concerned that it might be a new incursion point for the Hive. Run into them, yet? They've only infested a couple of places on Earth so far, but the Moon is teeming with them.
It's a safe bet she didn't mean it, but unless she's forgotten just about everything about living with humans, she has no business getting surprised when that happens.
"Nice going. Got any plans once you're back in the air?" She pauses, as if a thought has just occurred to her. "Or is that the kind of thing I'm not supposed to ask?"
You see the way all the buildings in the Traveler's shadow are lit up? It's like half the City's in night-time 24/7. I don't even know what all those tower buildings are. Except I'm guessing the red and white one is New Monarchy's Tower...
[ Well, technically it's Executor Hideo's property, but does Blaze care about the distinction? ]
Never realized there was so much air traffic overhead either. All those Hawks and jumpships look like, you know- birds from here.
