Sure, let me go grab it. [He was always helpful, or he tried to be. He went and fetched the cheesecake and brought it out, placing it where she indicates to place it.]

Thanks, Jason. [She had set up the drinks, the potato salad and the potato chips.] I'll wait to start the grill until everyone else gets here.

I've been good, how have you been?

A little roughed up. The racing season always grinds me down, but you know I don't exactly have time for a spa day. [Laughs softly.]

I need a massage and a day off so I got one of the two.

I could give you a shoulder rub.

You wouldn't mind? I'm just so spent, but that comes with having such a damn physical job.

Here, take a seat. [He guided her to a chair and smiled before his hands rested on her shoulders. He began a slow and gentle massage, slowly working out any tenseness he could find, even down along her back.]

Mmm thank you. This is fantastic. [Shelby let her eyes drift shut as she relaxed. He'd feel some tenseness in her neck and shoulders because she spent all day in a heavy race helmet being pushed around at top speeds.] Where did you learn how to do this?

Baseball. I learned to massage for when I had injuries I could reach. Usually my knees, legs, or shoulder. Easier doing it to someone else than yourself.

I can imagine. Usually after each race I just go and faceplant my bed or take a long bath. Or both. [Chuckles.] Why I wore the dress today, it's nice to be able to wear something much lighter and thinner than a fire suit.

[It wasn't obnoxiously thin but there wasn't a ton of fabric between his hands and her shoulders. It beat several pounds of race gear.]

As long as you don't mess up and faceplant into the tub. It looks good on you.

[He smiled as he began working on the last little bit of tenseness he found.]

Thank you. I fell asleep in a bathtub once. It wasn't pleasant when I came to. [She laughed.] So what about you, when's the last time you got a chance to relax?

Anytime I can really. If I don't the job can grind you down.

[Teasing.] I could always try to entertain you with some bad flirting, I did say we'd talk about that.
