[Han grunts and shakes his head. He'd personally balk if transporting ever became widespread in his galaxy on account of it likely cutting in on the work of pilots.]
No. Had to pull myself out of the ruins and spend a few days in a bacta tank. If the kryffing transport had been better maintained I wouldn't have crashed at all.
[It couldn't have been pilot error. Obviously. Or the fact that there were TIE\LN's trying to blast him to bits.]
[I mean, it's all stuff that makes sense to someone from his galaxy and he's got no reason to think he should be losing you.]
Not as glad as I am, but thanks. [He supposes he should be friendly. This guy seems nice enough.] Is your friend a pilot too? Or does he work on a ship?
[He nods in response to the thanks, then shakes his head at his questions.]
I don't know the ... exact circumstances that led him to being on a ship? But it was some kind of dangerous situation, the plane was going to crash, and he teleported everyone on board to safety .. [He pauses, realizing how weird this all sounds out loud.] It was some kind of .. war ship. [Yeah, that doesn't really help.]
I'm not really sure .. I did not ask for all of the details. I was more focused on the fact that he had teleported and stayed alive. [He ponders it for a moment.] Although now I am also wondering why they would have ships. Err, planes.
[As if that wasn't a matter of perspective. Lot's of people where he comes from think smuggler's are 'bad people'. Still, he's reminding himself not to completely argumentive jerk. He knows people who deserve it more.]
Not my ship, kid. Mine wouldn't have seized up when we flew through that jet stream.
... my ship is too recognizable for some things. You follow me?
[Weither it's the blond hair/blue eyed combination or the fact that he has to slow down and explain things to poor Isak, the guy reminds him of a certain friend of Han's.]
[Though now that he points it out ... the two of them might be about the same age.]
So it was like this.
The Princess asked me to fly her transport shuttle so she could get to this ... meeting, I guess. Something political. And we got fired on by some people that don't like either of us very much. The craft took some damage and then we hit some turbulent air.
OOC: You know jet lag has ruined your life when you read a VERY BLATANT description of Luke SKywalker but think, 'who the hell is he talking about?' ._.
Ah, Jisses! Then it sounds like you are very lucky you made it out okay. What about this princess you mentioned? I hope she is okay, as well.
OOC: LOL thanks for making me feel better about it, haha!
[He frowns; that sounds bad.] I'm glad she will be okay, I hope she has a quick recovery. It sounds like you were both lucky to have made it out alive.
Sounds like lots of luck and lots of fortuitous circumstances, for you to both have survived. [He tilts his head slightly, seeing his reaction at the mention of the princess; he decides he won't push it. No need to press a topic that obviously strikes a nerve in the stranger.] Well, you seem like a nice enough guy - I am glad you made it out okay.
[He calls it luck, there are some crazies out there that would have called it 'the will of the force' or some other nonsense.]
I seem nice, huh? [Must be spending too much time around Skywalker and he's rubbing off, Han thinks to himself. Isn't that concerning ...] Guess you caught me in a good mood.
[He had no such upbringing. He's more inclined to let everyone think he's just a bit of a jerk than his is to try to rationalize why he is the way he is.]
I do prefer, Han. I figure Isak is alright with you?
[He nods, both in response to his preference and question.] Han it is, then. And yes, Isak is more than all right. I suppose I could pull the pretentious asshole card and ask you to call me Dr. Cederström, but I am neither pretentious nor an asshole. Most of the time, at least.
[Han is only very, very dimly aware that there can be doctor's of things other than medicine and that people tended to be in charge medbays a long time ago in his galaxy.]
That's good. I would have just shorted that to doc, anyway. You know medicine, Isak?
[He shakes his head.] No, no. Not a doctor of medicine .. Doctor as in .. doctorate degree, as in .. I teach. [He laughs.] Nothing impressive, I am afraid.
[The lessons are always done at the student's pace and adjusted for the level of difficulty that's right for that particular person. They're not so bad, actually.]
... Oh. [He blinks; he shouldn't be surprised by theses sorts of answers anymore..] We aren't quite - at that level of advanced technology, where I am from.

Teleporting, huh? I suppose that would be convenient. Kinda makes me wonder why they'd need ships at that point, but I'm glad they do.

Is that what happened to you? With your -- ship?

I .. think so. As much as I can, anyway, without really ... you know, knowing anything.

Crashed back onto the planet.

Yeah, guess the odds were in my favor.
[For as much as he likes to gruff, when it really matters, luck is usually on his side]
She's ... ah. Still in the healing tank. Gonna be alright, but got flung from the wreckage and ended up a worse off than I did.

I'm Han Solo. Who might you be?

Captain Solo, if you have some odd desire to keep things formal-like. Good to meet you too, Isak.

There aren't many sentient teachers where I come from anymore. Apprenticeships for things like trade work, but that's about it.
