Not ready for what Han?

I thought a young Han and a TFA Luke would be kind of funny. Hope that's cool for this thread ...

[Han then turns toward the voice of his friend and he turns and sees ... a bearded man in a robe?]

I, uh. Hey, sir. I'm looking for a blond idealist. About twenty-four. Answers to the name of Luke.

[Luke couldn't help the chuckle that escapes as he realizes what has happened. He lowered the hood of his robe.]

Han it's me...Luke. It's complicated but I'm the future version of your Luke.

[He almost thinks it wouldn't be so weird if he could see 'this' Luke in something he had been more used to seeing his own Luke in. A flight suit. The black tunic. The sleeveless tan training uniform he'd sometimes seen him doing his exercises in.]

You look like Kenobi in those robes. [He frowns thoughtfully as he looks him over.] I ain't gonna disturb The Force if I find out something about the future, right?

[Luke smiles. He actually chose his clothing in honor of Ben and it touches him that Han noticed.]

To quote you in the future Han. That's not how the Force works. I won't tell you what it isn't safe for you to know I promise.

[On the one hand, a Han this young doubts he'll ever be explaining to somebody else what The Force can and can't do. But on the other hand, oddly, it does kind of sound like something he could picture himself saying ... weird.]

It's Leia. I'd have told you to talk to her, but you probably already know.

She's gonna be a mother.

[And by extension, he is going to be a father. He's not ready for it. At all.]

I know.....your son he's one of my students. He'll be strong in the Force Han.

I didn't even think about that. Strong in The Force. Makes sense that he would be, though, being half Skywalker.

[He doesn't seem especially happy by the news. More like resigned to the thought of it.]

Don't forget he's also half a Solo.....strong willed and stubborn.

[That makes him smile a little for some reason - the comparison to him. If Luke can see it, then the kid must end up being like him a little bit.]

Does Leia relax a little by then? Because seems like he'd get strong willed and stubborn from both of us.

[Luke sighs unsure of how to explain without revealing too much.]

Things are complicated for Leia in the future Han. For me too actually.

Well how ... bad can it be compared to what we've already been through together?

[He comes from a time where they've just killed The Emperor and destroyed the Death Star. What in the whole galaxy could stop the three of them if they're all working together? A Han in this part of time doesn't think that anything can.]

They call themselves the First Order but yes. The battle continues.

Kinda makes you wonder why we bothered fighting at all, if we struggle and scrape by to never see any um ... peace, I guess. At the end.

[The idea that they're still fighting the same war by the time that his son is an adult is disturbing. Nevermind the fact that he couldn't think for a moment that the youngest Solo would be on the wrong side.]
