[When other people can sense her gifts, Ginny's not too unused to being approached. This woman and she are ducked into a table in the back of a Starbucks for some privacy.
Two bracelet-heavy arms lean on the table. Ginny stirs another sugar packet into her latte, listening without watching Wanda's face.]
As opposed to a fake one?
Got any more details than that? I don't need your life story, but I've gotta have something to work with, here.
Okay, getting warmer. [Ginny snaps the top back on her latte and then just stays there, hands folded on the lid, chin perched on top of her hands. She's not one to shy from eye contact, so her scrunching shoulders and apologetic frown are in full view.]
How much do you wanna find this guy? I can do a name-search pretty easily for someone who's here, or anywhere near anyone that I know or could know about - but pulling a life out of thin air isn't as easy as it sounds. There's gotta be something for me to find.
[Which brings Ginny to why she'd asked how serious Wanda was.] If this is your bio dad - how do you feel about giving me a blood sample?
You seem to know something I don't. Are you holding back on me?
[She tilts her head and makes an effort to push into his mind a bit. She could be more forceful, get the information she wants in mere seconds, but she doesn't want to be rude or cause him pain.]
Your face is not familiar to me, I apologize. How is it you know me?
[Wanda considers the question for a long moment. She can tell there truly is more to this woman than there appears to be. Thus she's proceeding with caution. Wanda takes a deep breath and a slow sip of her coffee.]
I am very serious about it. I want to know who he is, where I come from, what I might be able to do.
[If she has 'evil' in her veins, and if that was why it was so easy for her to turn to HYDRA and ally herself with Ultron.]
I am wary of sharing my blood...but perhaps my talents might be of some assistance in amplifying yours.
[It's a very experimental scenario. She hasn't tested such a theory yet on any of her other friends who have mental/supernatural abilities. But she's curious.]
[Besides - criminals would pay top dollar for Scarlet Witch's blood, and use it to either help themselves to her powers or find a way to use her power against her. It's not a risk she's ready to take.]
I've just met someone a lot like you before. And it took them a while to realize they didn't like the person they were around their estranged father.
[ Ow! Wound him Wanda! He thought he had a face everyone knew. After all his family was pretty far up there on the list of riches. Okay so he's not as popular as the guy who has the worst comb over since Shatner and spent more time with the fake and bake than anyone humanly should... Or the genius in the tin can. But he's graced the cover of GQ a few times! And okay, Tabloids too...]
My mentor's been keeping tabs on you for a while, I'm sorry, I'm being rude. [ He held out his hand.] Warren Worthington. [ His wings fluttered a little.] Or Angel if you'd prefer.
Things have just...gotten out of hand. The average humans are paranoid and unhappy with meta-humans like me....I was a hero for a, how you say...a hot minute - but now they want me locked up.
[It's hard not to grin at her saying "a hot minute", but she seem so upset that he has to remind himself not to come off as an ass]
You give yourself too much credit, Red. Did you call down the aliens from the sky to level a bunch of New York? Did you cause SHIELD to be infiltrated by Hydra over the course of decades so that it got to the point where Captain America had to take them all down and crash gigantic helicarriers into the city?
[It's nothing personal - she's just been through quite a bit and has a hard time telling friend from foe from acquaintance. Besides - the biggest ego she's used to dealing with so far after leaving HYDRA is Tony Stark's.]
Your mentor? Who might that be?
[Still, she smiles and takes his hand, giving it a slight squeeze.]
I'd introduce myself, but it seems that would be redundant. All the same, call me Wanda.
The foundations were laid long before you came along. [shrugs] Were you the match that set off the powder keg others had built? Maybe. Or maybe the Winter Soldier was. It's hard to say.
But if it hadn't been you, it would have been one of the others. Politicians don't work quickly. They'd been wanting to do that for a while. You gave them an excuse.
[ He knows how that is, after all he has been used to attack friends before, not knowing is always a bitch ]
Charles Xavier. He might be able to help you find your father if you ask him. [ He only offers because the school's a safe place, might give her a place to be around people that would understand her a little more than the tincan (tony) or boy scout. ]
What a simple name for someone who is anything but. [ HE's not meaning it as an insult! ] Part of your charm right?
