I wouldn't normally mind, but my wing's cramping. [ And really she's sitting on a tree branch, her grey dove like wings are stretched a little, curled slightly. Though on the ground near him is probably her sketchbook, open to a sketch she was doing of 'Daddy' in his ice form.]
And I'm curious to see how it looks. [ Have the little cloned mutant girl glancing at him actually fully curious!]
[ She knows the feathers are hard... though she has feathers and ice down like a pro in her sketchbook. Helps to have feathers on hand, and well, there's a reason some of the other students like her around on hot days in the summer. Not that she'll complain she likes showing off her abilities.
Though hearing she can peek now, she stretches her wings a little more and glides down to the ground.]
Okay putting my little sketchbook to shame Piotr. [ Not that she minds, he is older and has had more time to practice.] And so worth the sore wings. Thank you for letting me model for you. [ She's smiling brightly at him.]
[Mai looks over her shoulder at the guy. What's he doing? Writing, or...?
She can't help but be curious, so she's walking up to him. Something even more curious about him; he looks like a foreigner. Not Japanese, like she is.
It's not everyday that she crosses paths with one. Luckily she had learned how to speak English when her family lived in Africa a while.]
Hi. [Mai smiles tentatively. For as long as she can remember, she's always been uncertain or around strangers.] What are you doing?
I have seen your sketches. They're very good. Graceful lines, a good eye for texture.
Thank you for your patience. You're a very obliging model. [Much better than his sister, who he had to practically armwrestle to pose for even a brief sketch.]
[ She wishes hers were as white as his. But the grey's cute.]
Thank you. [ She blushes a little.] I still struggle with coloring. Been playing around with water color pencils to just add little bits here and there.
[ Isn't that what little sisters are for, giving the older sibling a hard time?]
I can't help it that you're so beautiful. I have to capture every detail perfectly, or it will not do you justice.]
[It's actually pretty near the truth. Kitty is his favorite subject AND the most difficult. There's a lot of feeling that goes into each stroke of that pencil.]
All I can do is beg your patience and hope the result is good enough to justify it.
[Kitty sighs in a loud and exaggerated manner, faking her annoyance over the inconvenience of being Peter's muse, but she holds her pose. Sure, she'd rather be watching him do his magic than be the subject, but she'll live. Plus: she gets to spend some quiet time alone with him and that alone is well worth it.]

[He continues sketching.]
I'm almost finished. Five minutes.
[He doesn't work quite as quickly as some sketch artists, but he more than makes up for it in quality.]

[But she sighs and sits.]

[Piotr does try to finish as quickly as he can. Another few minutes pass and then he turns the pad around so she can look at the sketch.]
What do you think?

I look too young. But I guess it is okay.

If you can believe it, so am I.
[Even though sometimes Piotr acts like he's twenty-something going on sixty-something.]

You will be able to see soon, Bobbi.
[A few more strokes, and voila, a sketch.]
Thank you for your patience. You can come see now, if you like.

You never know when an interesting subject will appear.

Just doing a little sketching of the park.
[He shifts slightly so she has a better view.]

Wow. That's really good! It almost looks like a photograph. [She glances back at his sketch as she comments.] Like those old black and white photos...

You act like you are seventy-five.

[He impulsively adds a few touches to the background. And, just be tease her further, some pretty flowers in her hair.]

I listen to classical music. Get your old-man stereotypes right.
[A small grin. Piotr does listen to a lot of classical music, though. And old-school hard rock and heavy metal. But nothing modern.
Those kids, just don't rock out like the bands did in the good old days.]

Uh-huh. You're awfully lucky I like you, y'know.
