That beauty is rare, and very fragile. It's destroyed, generally, and leaves behind echoes and reminders of what was. The world is dark, dangerous. Beauty can't get a proper foothold.
I agree that its hold is often on this world is often tentative at best. But beauty can live in a thought, or ideal, the flicker of promise or even in the way that we handle pain, or defeat. The snowy skin of a child, downy soft and never touched by the sun as it rests against it mother's midnight hair. Or the face of a soldier, at his first sight of home on the return journey. It is there.
Not in Wonderland. Not since Redd. No children born, no soldiers coming home. Only women dying and soldiers marching to war. And now the imagination is dead. *makes a face* The thoughts won't come.
Lo list it all would take centuries. The Universe is full of beauty. If I might be permitted I would start my list with the beauty of the lady standing before me.
I do enjoy your country, on those occasions when I have the time to take in the sights. Paris is a special favorite of mine.
I did have a spot of bother there once, though. Someone thought my head would be better off seperated from the rest of me and tried to introduce me to the guillotine.
Yes, that part always is a bit difficult to explain. Usually i wait too long and it's such a shock when it happens. You see, I have this little trick when it comes to escaping death. I change every cell in my body. It's called regeneration.
You are a very wise woman. Yes, it must be a future me that has the pleasure of your acquaintance. It's wonderful knowing I have that introduction to look foreward to.
We are friends, aren't we? You haven't tried to kill me yet or thrown anything at me, so I assume we are.

I do have a certain flair, not matter the face I am wearing.
