No, no. I've been filling out forms for my step-daughter all day. She recently became a citizen and changed her name and it's... kind of weird actually writing it over and over again? In a good way, of course.
Hmm? Oh no, I'm just getting some stuff squared away. With Nadia's paternity all squared away and everything with her citizenship in progress, I want to make sure her future is provided for. You know, just in case.
People like Tony and he has experience working the press, but his time actually leading the team has been pretty minimal. Trust me, though, these people know this team is my baby and they trust my leadership. I'm in charge even when I'm not in charge.
Her father... well, he's not in the picture at the moment and he never even knew the kid existed. I've been kind of filling in for him, I guess.
No, no, he's.... dead. [ Which might not entirely be the truth, but it's the one she's going with. It's nothing personal, she's just not about to share the details of how her husband merged with a psychotic robot. ]
It happened about a year ago, I mean... I've had time to process it. [ Less time processing the image of Ultron wearing her ex-husband's face, but... One day at time. ] I miss him and I wish he'd gotten a chance to know his daughter, because she is... amazing, but... this is the life we live. These things happen.
It's weird. I mean, cool, I'm honored that she would even consider it, that she feels bonded enough to me or that I've made some kind of impact on her, but... it's definitely weird. [ 'Cause SOMEONE over at Marvel clearly wants Jan to forget all about her own flesh and blood child, but this is definitely a weird position to put a grieving parent in. :'))) ]
Then again, I didn't even know she existed until earlier this year.
