"No," Agron replies, nesting his crippled hands in his lap. It had been a long time since he last saw a medicus. Gladiator's had surprisingly good healthcare, most likely cos the domini didn't wish to lose their champions. Alas since the rebellion, since getting to this place between places, he hadn't seen a professional, just field medics trying their best to help injured soldiers. They had naturally not been able to help much in repairing the nerve damage caused by his hands getting pierced in his crucification.
((idk, just rolling with it. Jupiter, take the wheel.))
Charles takes one of Agron's hands by the wrist, and turns it over to examine the scarring from his crucifixion. He hasn't seen this kind of damage on a Gladiator before, but he's heard of men being subjected to crucifixion. He didn't know it was possible for someone to survive what is usually meant as a death sentence.
"There isn't much I can do to improve the damage caused by these wounds," he admits, giving Agron's hand back to him. "But if you're feeling pain, I can recommend to your patrons that the afflicted areas receive regular massages. Some men tell me that helps with the pain."
[Interesting! Had to take a moment to google medical care for Gladiators. Gotta love rp for teaching you new things.]
Agron remains as stiff as a plank as the doctor examines his injury. Showing weakness was a difficult thing to do when battle was all you knew. As he finished the examination, Agron's heart sank over the uttered words. He hadn't expected a better answer from this visit but he had been persuaded to give it a try. The equipment and medication was after all far better than what they had in the field and small towns that was willing to give refugee.
"I can deal with the pain. It's the paralysis that causes me trouble. It's zapping my strength and ability," he responds with a low tone. His skill as a warrior had been compromised ever since. It was difficult to wield a sword with the same skill as before. "But thank you," he trailed off, unsure what the proper title to use was. The man was no Roman.
