[ Only for a moment he looks dead serious. ]

"I'm kidding. My day is okay, so far."

[She was about to get snarky on his ass when he revealed he was kidding. She chuckled hesitantly.] Boy, you don't even know how close you got to some backhanded hospitality. So what can I get for ya? [ She motions to the coffee menu behind her ready to take his order.]

"I must have been on edge. For that, I'm sorry."

[ He does smile slight, to reassure her that he's much kinder underneath the stoic and dry facade. ]

"Plain coffee is fine."

You're fine, darlin'. One plain coffee it is. [She punches it into the register and gives him the total.] Can I ask you somethin'? You like the taste of black coffee or is it like a guy thing to drink it black?

"It's a bit of both, but I balance it out with something sweet."

[ He points to the cinnamon roll. ]

Tenny chuckles and grabs the tongs to get him a cinnamon bun and put it in a little paper bag before pouring his coffee. "One sweet cinnamon roll and bitter black coffee for..." She trailed off so he could fill in the blank with his name.

[ Quickly, he thinks of his alias. ]

"Ivan... thank you."

[ He pays with cash, and insists that she keeps the change. ]

" Well, thank you, Ivan. I appreciate it. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with. I can periodically be helpful." She chuckled as she pocketed the change.
