Yeah? Had it been a while?

Home is always the best place to be. Where are you from?

Years, way too many years. Family can be a complicated beast.

I'm from Samoa. (There's a smile there.)

Oh, I've never been but I've heard good things. [Smiles.] I'm from Los Angeles originally, moved around a lot.

I'd suggest you do visit. It is a beautiful place.

It's definitely on my list. I'm probably going to be tied up going to places with theme parks for a while. [Laughs.] I have an almost one-year-old at home.

Theme parks are fun. I've been to plenty with my daughter.

I'm still getting used to motherhood. I travel a lot for work, so my husband has been spending more time with Sarah than I have. [Something Shelby feels guilty about.] But I've got another two months off so I plan to enjoy them.

Spend as much time as you can because they do grow up pretty fast. Seems like the time just speeds on by.

Oh, tell me about it. Sometimes I still feel like I'm in my twenties. Can't believe I'm married with a baby. [Chuckles.] So what brought you back home? Business or pleasure?

Business, but got to reunite with family. The pleasure came later when I took my daughter to meet family she never met before. Which is a lot.

That's great though. You can never spend too much time with family. I used to work with my dad for a long time and I really enjoyed it.

He's retired now, in Daytona spending time with my mom on the beach.

Yeah, it definitely can be. Emotions and history and all.

It always does.

Wasn't sure how this homecoming would go. I mean wasn't exactly a quiet one.

Beach always sounds like a great way to spend time.

Since when is anything we do quiet?

As much as I'd really love to argue that, I cannot. At least my mom and brothers can handle anything thrown at them.

That's what family does.

Daytona Beach is fantastic. I miss it already. [Pauses, then blushes slightly as she realizes she never gave him her name.] Oh, god, I'm sorry. I'm Shelby, it's nice to meet you.

That's true enough and my daughter met an entire family she had never gotten to meet before since I wasn't on speaking terms.

Nice to meet you Shelby. I'm Luke, though most just call me Hobbs.

Even better. You can never have enough family.

My husband used to call me Manning until we got married. Now my last name's too long. In fact, my whole name's too long. [Laughs.]
