[The guards were easy enough to bypass but her rabid curiosity was peaked by the man who had approached her before. She did nothing but observe him for the moment as he moved amongst the flowers.]
[He was on his way back from the meeting with Jake when he stumbled into the garden, his usual path blocked. He'd only intended to pass through at first, glancing at the temple-like building and getting an uneasy feeling from it, but the beauty of the place slows his haste. He's only ever seen gardens like this in pictures.
Not watching his path, he stumbles into the other boy with uncommon clumsiness.]
Oh! Hey, sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going.
This might be Andy's Bad Ending. ^^;; Each character story route in Ray/Saeran's canon has them.
[[ooc cont: This is what the Magenta building looks like, btw.]]
[This Korean man may look boyish, yet he's older, in his early 20's.
Ray immediately backs away the moment he feels the body of someone else touch him. That's too close for contact too. He starts to freak out.]
W-! What are you doing here?! How did you-?!
[He is quick to respond in English, for he had studied the language well enough to rival that damn red-head he sparingly acknowledges as his twin brother.
Not that Ray's thinking about him right now as he's quickly backed up to get a distance away from this intruder. He looks like a teen foreigner.]

He's never had a lot of luck, so yo ho ho, full speed ahead into the Bad Ending!
[[ooc: Thank you for the link! That's useful and now I know why Andy gets a bad vibe off it.]]
[Andy's expecting to have startled the other boy (or young man, really, but to his untrained eye the Korean man looks barely older than him). The reaction he gets, though, is way more extreme than he was expecting. He tries at first to defuse the situation.]
There's a fence with some gaps back that way. I came through it on my way back home. That's all this is, you don't have to be afraid of me. I'm not going to hurt you.
[The delicate-looking man still beats a hurried retreat, though. Andy doesn't try to pursue him. It must be his uniform, he figures. Maybe the guy thinks he's a soldier the way Jake did at first?
Either way, he senses he's worn out his welcome in a hurry, so he starts looking around for a way out. Another fence, a tree to climb, he's not going to be picky.]

Sure thing! And I just found the music track I was thinking of. XD
[[ooc: Dark Secret, from the official OST! Oh and I have that flyer message shown in this journal profile too, including the Mint Eye logo~]]
[As an attempt of a defusing of the situation as it was, it already fails. Ray is running, yelling at the top of his lungs in Korean for the guards to come as he does. He's not fooled! The military uniform does make Ray extra afraid. There's a young soldier on the grounds of Magenta! Why?! How?! There could be an entire army invading them!
What about the Savior? He should go and see if she's safe!
There are some guards outside already. They're nearby, dressed in full body, hooded dark robes with gold patterns and lines sown onto the fabric.
The cloaked guards are running over, but hadn't spotted Andy just yet. It won't stay that way for long!]
[[ooc: Good choice for scene setting! I was listening to some music this morning and one song in particular made me think of Saeran, Poison Heart by the Ramones.]]
[Well, that went well. If Andy had the time for it, he'd facepalm. Good going, Barclay. Real A+ discretion on his part. But he can beat himself up over it later. Right now he needs to get out of here.
He sees those guards in robes and veers a hard right away from them. Still no exit in sight. Foregoing any sense of stealth Andy just starts outright running, booted feet pounding down the garden path as his head whips from side to side.
Flowers... flowers... more flowers. This garden that was so peaceful before is a lot less calming now that he's under pursuit. And isn't that just the story of his life?
Andy's on guard for those creepy robed guys, and if he sees them again he'll take off in the other direction. It's a good thing his cadet training got him into such good shape! He's not tired yet, but he can't keep this up forever either.]
[[That's a very good one! If there are any others that you can recall, be sure to link them. ^^ I added Poison Heart it to the Saeran playlist I titled "Fragile Minds". I'll link you to the one of the others from the same list. If These Scars Could Speak by Citizen Soldier Deep Story version of Saeran-muse has been really angsty and anti-social lately, and this one is so fits.]]
[Ray already made his way inside the palace that is Magenta, unharmed. As he is physically safe, he's shaken up on the inside. He's trembling. He must go find the Savior! And he knows where to look first; the throne room. He makes a mad dash to search for her there, as if the hounds of hell are at his heels.
The guards Andy had seen definitely hear the sounds of booted steps running, making noise on the dirt path. They don't hesitate as they run after him.
Around the other areas outside the building come out more hooded guards. And there are cameras in various places, installed from every corner on Magenta, and in other places outside. Andy might have ran passed one or more of them already.
The entire home and base of operations of Mint Eye is well secluded in a mountain range, far from the nearest city. Yet, Rika and her disciples took extra steps to make their safe haven from the rest of the world to be as secure as humanly possible. They wouldn't want anyone coming in to disturb and ruin what they believe to be peaceful, everlasting paradise. Especially not police and military.]
[[Glad you liked it! My taste in music leans towards old fart stuff like that, lol. And if I remember any others, I absolutely will link them for you! :) BTW, I only knew Citizen Soldier as a song by 3 Doors Down, I had no idea that was also the name of a band! I'm going to look them up tomorrow on YouTube and play through some of their stuff.]]
[Andy isn't trembling scared, but he is starting to get worried. More guards are coming and eventually they'll overwhelm him if this keeps up. Finding a place to hide might be a better plan, but this is enemy territory and he doesn't trust it. The more he runs, the stronger he gets a feeling of being watched.
Looking back at the guards, Andy thinks of maybe laying on out and taking his robe and hood. But they're all in pairs, and too big for him to take clothes from anyway. He could take them if it was one on one, but in pairs isn't a fair fight and he doesn't imagine these crazy cultist-looking types will care about fighting fair.
Rounding another corner, Andy almost runs into two guards and only barely squeezes between them. Crap. He's panting now, trying to shake off his pursuers but as close as they are that's next to impossible. Frantically he looks around for some kind of weapon to defend himself with, because he knows that's what it's going to come to now.]
[[I like classic rock as well, along with other music! (My favorite bands include Blue Oyster Cult, Kansas, Journey, Bad Company, Pink Floyd, The Ramones, The Clash, and some others. ^^) Yeah, I know of that song by 3 Doors Down. I happened to see the If These Scars Could Speak listed on recommendations while listening to one of my playlists a while ago.]]
[Ray reaches the throne room, but his Savior isn't anywhere in there! I mustn't panic! She's probably in her room, or maybe waiting for me at my work room. He'll check where her room is first, since it's closer.
Those two guards Andy squeezed between were so close to grabbing him! Now he's having at least one more pair chasing him.
Andy may have great stamina, but they have had gone through their fair share of exercise. Some of the disciples have been tasked to train and drill the Believers who are assigned as guards.
There's an angry shout in the Korean language Andy will hear behind him. (Korean to English translation: Stop immediately! You'll only make this harder for yourself if you don't!) Not that they would know whether or not he knows it.
For guys who wear full body hooded cloaks, they can move surprisingly fast. Another Korean shout is coming from one of the other guards that are feet behind Andy in the pursuit. (Split up! We will catch him at the garden exit!)
Anything that could be used as a weapon could be a rake, or a shovel. The gardening tools stored up within a small shed. But would there be enough time to grab one of them, before the current guards or other guards would catch up to Andy?]
[[I see our music tastes are pretty similar! (The only band on your list I've never gotten to listen to is The Clash :) ) Sadly I didn't get to listen to any Citizen Soldier stuff last night, I ended up needing to pick up the kids early early since the whole district shut down suddenly because of a snowstorm, and one of them had a friend spend the night so I had to run to Walmart and get some extra kid food, snacks and such.]]
[Andy's stamina, great as it is, is starting to ebb. He's been running at full speed for a good few minutes now, and while he could easily run for fifteen if given the chance to pace himself, there's no opportunity to pace here. If he slows down they'll catch him, so he doesn't slow down. Except, now, he's starting to slow because he can't help it.
For all the training he has received, Andy knows no Korean. But he catches the tone of their voice well enough, as well as the angry looks on their faces. He'd shout back something if he could, but frankly he doesn't have the breath for it. He pants and keeps moving.
There! A shed. It's got to have something he can use to fight back, a shovel or rake or something. Heart hammering, he forces himself to make one more frenzied burst of speed, pulling ahead of his closest pursuers and darting to the left towards the shed.
He reaches the shed, twists the door handle and... nothing. The handle doesn't turn. It's locked, not even just with an ordinary lock he could kick out, but a big heavy padlock hadn't had time to see. It sits there around the handle, fat and happy, seeming to taunt him with its solidity.
Trapped. Fear's already settled in and now Andy feels the first flickers of despair. He turns, back against the door, and raises his fists to fight.]
[[I like a lot of rock overall, older and newer stuff. ^^ The Clash has some classic songs! One of their most popular ones is "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" It's fine, and you're an awesome parent! I honestly haven't heard any of the band's other songs yet. I've been mostly listening to not only all 3 Saeran playlists on repeat but also all 3 Saeyoung ones too. There's definitely some REALLY fitting and fun tracks for his character that I'll show you later. Ok, well for now, I'll link to one I put on the first. I happened to find it one day last year; an 80's Dr. Pepper commercial. LOL, I had to put that in there, since that's Saeyoung's favorite drink.]]
[Ray knows Savior so well to have assumed that she would have gone to her room. At this hour, she wouldn't be visiting anyone within their paradise. As much as he knows it's inappropriate and out of line to disturb her there, notifying her of the SOLDIER he saw is a very urgent matter! He knocks on the door rapidly. In moments, Savior opens the door to see one of her most loyal disciples looking so worried and frightened. He kneels, and stammers. Savior moves forward, and lays a gentle hand on his shoulder. She then listens to Ray as he recalls in detail as to who he saw, and what he fears; that a military group has found Magenta, and plans to invade them.
Ray, Savior, and a few of the Believers take such great care in preserving the garden's beauty and health. The padlock was a Believer's idea to appease their beautiful founder of Mint Eye.
At the moment Andy discovers that shed is locked, the four hooded Believers who chased him surround where he stands. When he raises his fists, two of them rush in to roughly grab his arms. They're all catching their breaths, and looking furious as the two strong men start to drag him back toward the path that leads out of the garden.]
[[Oh, I know that song! Haha, that's amazing you brought that up, at work late last week (Thursday or Friday) one of my coworkers brought it up asking me who was the band that played it because he could not remember, and for the life of me I could not remember! I said I would look it up over the weekend, but of course I forgot. But thanks to you when I go to work in a couple of hours I'll be able to tell him! And lol, that Dr. Pepper commercial is so innocent, reminds me of my youngest years back when even the commercials had personality.]]
[If only Andy had known what a den of whackos had squirreled away up here, he never would have worn this uniform that's causing such a ruckus. Or, more likely, he just would have steered clear of this place entirely. Beautiful as the gardens may be, they're not at all worth this tension, and he's going to have a distrust of gardens going forward. You know, assuming he gets out of this place. Which, at the moment, is looking like a pretty big if. He's cornered and there's nothing to do but fight.
He takes a swing at the first Believer, and pops him a satisfying right hook across the chin, but it doesn't matter since one more just rushes in to take his place. It's just as he feared, he might be able to take these guys one-on-one but they're not even trying to fight fairly, they just mob him and grab his arms. He stiffens and strains with all his might to pull his arms loose.]
Let go, you crazy cultists, let GO!
[Okay, no one's told him these are cultists yet, but come on, the way they dress and the way they act, it doesn't take a genius to put two and two together. His booted foot kicks at the knee of one of the men holding him, and he thrashes in their grip. Wherever they're trying to take him, he doesn't intend to go quietly.]
[[lol! Synchronicity is awesome like that... The "Fragile Minds" Saeran fan-mix playlist is complete! I'm really liking this band, Silent Theory. They sound pretty good! The one I finished, I titled after the song of the same name by this band. I recently added another really good one on that playlist by them, Lost Forever. LOL and I already started a 4th one, that's for songs that remind me of him and Mint Eye. After all, I titled it "Disciple of Mint Eye"!]]
[The guard with the bit of a bloody lip moves in front of the two dragging Andy. His tone sounds icy towards who they deem as an unwelcome nuisance. (English Subtitles:"You've been stupid, coming around here alone. We'll find the rest of your squad members soon enough.") As he finishes, he delivers a hard punch to Andy's gut.
The one who's kicked in the knee just takes the hit. The Believer who just spoke turns, and leads the way along the path, exiting from the garden. There are two more ahead, waiting there.
The one guard wipes away the bit of blood and commands those two to walk behind them. Any other members would be instructed to move ahead with him. Andy wouldn't have an easy time getting away if he breaks free of the two who have their grip on his arms.
Ray sighs in relief as he sees the security camera footage of a group of Believers, surrounding that young foreign soldier. He returns to the throne room to Savior, and reports.
Rika finishes putting on her holy looking robe over her dress, and sits on her throne. She'll contemplate, while waiting for her Believers to bring the young soldier to her.]
[[Congrats on finishing your fan-mix! I haven't had much time for fun this week, five people at work all got fired so all the rest of us have been picking up the rest of the slack. One of them had tenure even, I have no idea what possessed her to participate in what she and the others did. Between that and the crazy weather, it's just been a strange mother period. At least I've got your tags to look forward to!]
[Andy knows what's coming when he sees the guard's angry glare, and he steels himself for it, but the punch still doubles him over, or would have doubled him over if he wasn't being held upright. Since he is being held upright, he groans and tries to contract in on himself, coughing as he struggles for breath.
Once he's regained his breath Andy tries pulling away again, but by that time the cultists have him firmly held between them, with two more of them just in case he gets a second wind. Andy's heart just about sinks to his aching stomach at the sight of them. His only stroke of luck is that they haven't restrained him with cuffs or worse yet, but he knows that's what's coming if he doesn't get very lucky or very smart in the next couple of minutes.
He has no idea that the boy he spoke with by instant messenger is watching him be subdued. That was days ago, and he'd tried to put the disappointing encounter out of his thoughts. Nor does he know this cult's leader is waiting for him. At this stage, he's not even sure these headjobs have a leader of the human kind, or whether they're being led by some Cthulhu-esque tentacle monster.]
[["Disciple of Mint Eye" I think will be the final playlist for Saeran. I'm already over halfway through in putting that one together! I plan on having them all be 24 tracks each. Awww that sucks it's been hard at work for you... I'm glad you've been enjoying the scenes we have active. ^^]]
[As Andy's being taken through the exit of the gardens, there are more Believers for guards seen. It's quite a group that's building, lessening his chances to escape. It is quite a hike from the gardens to the destination the Believers have in mind for him. Eventually, the front of Magenta comes into view as the cloaked guards continue to drag him along. It looks like a large palace that looks majestic and creepy at, due to the Mint Eye logo, along with the other eyes in a horizontal line just above the double wooden doors.
Ray stands attentively nearby the throne Rika's still seated herself in. ("Could he be the only one who intruded?")
Rika replies to calm her faithful disciple. ("We'll see from what he'll tell us. Worry not.") She is calm, curious, and patient. Determined. She wants to know many things from Andy, including how he had found their haven from the rest of the world...]
[[I wish I had your creativity and work ethic when it comes to building playlists, it's all I can do just to keep my MP3 player current! And yeah it did end up being a long week, but TGITW. I also feel I owe you an apology for how much my tags have slowed down. Don't worry or feel like it's you because it's not, it's definitely me and me alone in this case.]]
[With each cultist that comes to join the group escorting him, the deeper Andy's heart sinks. There's no way he's getting away now. There just isn't. And now that he knows it he stops struggling, because all he's doing if he can't escape is wasting energy and something tells him he's going to need his energy soon. His eyes lift to the palace and he wonders how he ever thought there was any beauty to it before. It's like it was built to look majestic but succeeds only in being monstrous. He digs his heels in despite his vow not to waste energy, but of course they just drag him along anyway.
Once they lead him inside his head darts around constantly, studying every inch of his surroundings for any escape routes or hiding places. If they smack him or hit him he'll stop, but only until he thinks they're not looking and then he'll try looking around again. The only thing that'll stop Andy from frantically surveying as much of his surroundings as he can if they just out and out blindfold him.]
[[It's nothing tough to do. It just takes time and patience in putting them together. You're busy with work overall, so I understand! Take your time! *HUGS* I hope you get some extra days off in the near future.]]
[The guards surrounding him let him get an eyeful of the both magnificent and foreboding interior of Magenta. Either way on what their Savior decides to do with the American military youth, they know he's not going to be able to escape.
It's all up to the Savior. Andy's life will be in her hands. Whatever she decides, the Believers and Disciples won't object. Because they all believe she is wise and knows what's best.
They drag him down some corridors until they reach the room, where Savior and Ray are both waiting.
Rika's smile looks kind and warm. Her long golden curls for hair go past her shoulders. There's something calculative and intelligent that might be noticeable in her emerald eyes as she has interest in Andy. The Believers start to step to the side, except for the two who are dragging him, and then shoving him down onto the floor before her throne.]
[[Thank you for being so understanding! *hugs back* Hopefully once this month's over things will slow down a little at work, March is usually one of the quiet months (and then things go crazy in April and May...)]]
[Andy doesn't know this fortress's name yet, but he's already decided he doesn't like it. Any of it. He wants nothing more than to be out of it. He still tries to free himself once or twice, when he thinks he might have a chance of surprising his captors. It doesn't work. They fought hard to nab him and they're not letting him go for anyone expect their boss.
When he sees the throne, he knows he's about to meet this boss. Straightening up, recovering what dignity he can recover, Andy searches for the face of this cult's leader and finds... a girl? A beautiful girl, even. He's taken aback and it shows on his face but then he recovers. Beautiful people can be evil too.
Ray, on the other hand, he recognizes immediately as the boy from the garden. He openly glares at him, angry at him for sounding the alarm before even giving him a chance to explain himself. He opens his mouth to say something, but before he can strong hands shove him forward bodily, so that he lands at the foot of the throne on his belly.
He doesn't stay there, though. Picking himself up, he stands upright, deliberately keeping himself from coming to attention. He ignores the girl and focuses on the boy, partly because he already knows the boy and partly because he doesn't think anyone who sits on a throne like that can be a good person, no matter how intelligent they look.]
Is this what you wanted? I would have left. All you had to do was ask.
[[Ah, okay. Hopefully all will work out as you expect. *inserts fitting music* for what's currently happening in this scene.]]
[Ray is rarely seen as agitated around the Believers. Almost never do the cult members see people coming unwelcome to their home. Their Paradise. The Mint Eye cult seclude themselves up in the mountains because it is far from what is deemed to be filthy and rotten.
He tenses, as he doesn't believe a word Andy says. To him, it would be stupid to. Not only is he getting upset over this. He's definitely noticed Andy is being disrespectful. Of course he'd be. He's an outsider. A good for nothing outsider. An airhead.]
You expect me to believe you came alone! Don't lie to me. We're aware that more soldiers could be out there, hiding.
[Rika's already standing and walking over to Ray. She's noticed the moment his mood had started to change. The woman's eyes are mostly on Andy as she wraps an arm around her most valued and crucial member of Mint Eye. She doesn't look even a bit upset, or unsettled as she speaks softly in English, for Andy to hear.]
"If that is so, then I wonder why we don't hear them coming for him right now. It's a difficulty for anyone to roam around outside, unseen by our surveillance system..." [Ray lowers his eyes as he allows it when she gently touches him, her slender fingers lightly brushing over the top his head. Andy may notice in hearing her voice that she is older than he is.] "I understand why you'd assume he's lying. It'd make more sense for a squadron of troops to come and invade us. Not just one soldier, but a very young one at that. Don't you find that odd, Ray?"
[Rika's tone doesn't carry even the slightest of bitterness as she calms the restless young man. Ray is precious and valuable to her. He is so compassionate and dedicated to what they share a desire for; to save everyone from fear, pain, and misery. She doesn't wish for him to be so stressed and rattled about this.
She embraces and calms Ray as she looks to the American boy. She's so curiously watchful.]
"Where did you come from? Why are you here? How did you find us?"
[She smiles a little toward him, as she releases Ray. She's walking close to where Andy stands.] "You're an anomaly I'd like to get to know..."
[Rika seems kind and understanding on the surface. Underneath, there's a darkness about her that's very dangerous, and terrifying.]
Only seemed fair, lol. Hope this is okay.

[The guard with the bit of a bloody lip moves in front of the two dragging Andy. His tone sounds icy towards who they deem as an unwelcome nuisance. (
English Subtitles:"You've been stupid, coming around here alone. We'll find the rest of your squad members soon enough.") As he finishes, he delivers a hard punch to Andy's gut.The one who's kicked in the knee just takes the hit.
