Perfection is another word for stagnation.

Only when perfection has already been attained. As an unfulfilled aspiration, it can be highly motivational.

[The Zerg noted to himself that the human seemed to have modification. Terrans were quite gifted at improving themselves with their own technology, it seemed. He had encountered several cyborgs in the past.]

Affirmative. Pursuit of improvement ideal.

[Seven is unable to identify his species. It's intriguing, given that there's a staggering number of species she can identify. She hypothesizes that they might belong to different universes.

He's correct in thinking that she's essentially human aside from those modifications, however the technology she's augmented with is not Terran.]

Yes. Is that your goal here? Self-improvement?

Not just self. Improvement of Zerg Swarm priority. It is my primary function.

[On a human level, his terminology makes her a little apprehensive. The Borg response is worse: he appeals and ignites her curiosity. She's still coming to terms with the royal protocols, Borg Queen functionality, she'd activated in herself by reassimilating a rogue cube.]

Elaborate. I am unfamiliar with the Zerg Swarm. Is it comprised of many individuals, or a hive mind? Are you an individual?

[Abathur's insectoid mouthparts clicked excitedly. He loves to talk about his work. His flesh around his chest just might puff up a little with pride. It seemed he picked a few things up from Kerrigan's Terran influence.]

Both, in a way. All are individual, yet all are a part of the swarm. All submit to will of higher ranking classes. Some, like myself-unique-only one. Others, like zerglings, uncountable thousands. All submit to the leader of the Swarm, the Queen of Blades. She has...immense psionic influence and power. Eliminated previous Overmind.

[She remains simultaneously intrigued and disquieted, watching and interpreting his reactions. Pride is not a bad sign, to her way of thinking. It is superior to having no emotion at all.]

And what is the will of the Queen of Blades? Does she have a different purpose for the Zerg Swarm than the Overmind before her?

Affirmative. Queen of Blades uses Swarm to wage war against her enemies, but after...she wishes to forge new paths for the Swarm. Unknown future ahead. Previous Overmind concerned with aggressive expansion of Zerg space.

Queen of Blades. Sarah Kerrigan. Former human. Incredible power even before infestation, Excellent addition to Swarm.
