Besides the obvious answer "cos it is"? Marriages in Hellas are contacts between families. There's rarely any love or even desire between the partners. Women has to settle for what their parents thinks is best. I add a little spice and excitement into their lives.

[She could not understand how that was fun but chose to let it go.] That is a depressing concept. Wouldn't that cause more trouble for them instead?

You can't be particularly familiar with the Olympians. Causing mischief for mortals is a common pastime for us. Mortals needs to be kept on their toes or they may get complacent.

As for me? I'm just having a bit of fun. Not so much these days since I got married.

Stories at best. I was more interested in other literature so I did not pay as much attention as I should have. Until now, I was not under the impression your kind actually existed. When I was younger I would have appreciated that mentality more.

That's such a shame. We are very much real. But not as influential these days.

It's not dull. I simply have other responsibilities to attend too now that I'm a married man.

Given what I am I should probably be less surprised. Is that because of Humans?

Chose? Depends on how you look at it. Our marriage begun as a funeral after all. I plucked her off the top of a building where she was awaiting her sacrifice. She then burned my face with heated wax. [He points a faded scar across his face.] After that... incident she ran errands for my mother in an attempt to once more see me. We were then reunited and she was made a goddess. The marriage itself was consensual. I love her dearly.
