I don't want to know what the "but" is, because there's plenty to be alarmed about right now without buts being thrown into the mix.

[ Addison isn't sure she can handle bad news right now. Not when she's just gone from barely surviving in a zombie apocalypse to being abducted by actual aliens on an actual spaceship who were going to take her into actual space. She isn't even sure how it happened. It was dark, and then there was light, and then she was here. Along with the strange man she now finds herself sticking close to as they navigate the hallways in search of some way to escape.

There's an intersection of hallways ahead and she freezes when one of their captors shuffles across it ahead of them. It doesn't notice them there, and Addison has to fight the urge to follow it and look at it up close. ]
