I'm gonna need you to calm down the Daddy vibes real quick, buddy.

Nick Knight, I'm with the NYPD. You alright?

Me? Yeah. I'm great. [Don't ask about the blood. It's not his and there isn't a body to go along with the blood.] Spilled something on my shirt.

So I see. [Nick's nose flares. He swears he can smell blood, which is ridiculous. At this volume, at least. It makes his stomach twist oddly, regardless.] What happened?

Well, Nick, I'm not a detective. So I don't really know.

It's my day off. I just want to make sure no one's hurt. That looks a lot like blood.

Is a cop ever really not working? [He looks at his shirt.] Yeah, it is.

You'd be surprised, depending on the situation. I take it from how lively you are, you don't need an ambulance?

[He pats himself down and shakes his head.] Nah, I think I'm good. I could use a drink though.

[Nick's nose flares again, and this time the scent of blood is hard to ignore. It makes his mouth water, his stomach growl. Strange. He ignores it.] Yeah, I could use a drink myself. I was about to go inside, you want something? [He gestures at the bar nearby.]

[Ashley quirks a brow when he hears the stomach growl.] A drink and some food? You hungry?

[Nick shrugs. It's not like he can explain how weird things have been to a perfect stranger.] I forget to eat a lot. Too many years grabbing coffee to go to one call or another, it's a bad habit.

How about a drink then with a side of wings. Think this place, [He points to the hole in the wall bar.] is a bar and grill type joint. Could always use to have a cop on my side.

Don't tell me this is one of those bars where you end up in a fight. [He grins.] I'm Canadian, we only fight about hockey.

Aren't all bars? [He shakes his head and laughs.] Thankfully hockey season is over.

Thank goodness. Last time the Bruins played the Maple Leafs, one of the doctors at the hospital wouldn't let me live it down.

That sounds like someone I know. [Ash holds the door to the bar open and waves Nick in first.]

[Nick walks in and waves at the bartender. Clearly he's been here before.] Plate of wings and whatever's decent on tap, Joey. [He nods at Ash.] This doctor you know, does she work with kids by chance? Always wear fancy gloves?

Same. Wings. Bourbon. Whatever you have on the top shelf. [He lifts a brow at the description.] Pretty sure she's my sister.

Doctor Nuttal is your sister? [Nick laughs and shakes his head.] It's a small world. She's a good doctor. I end up seeing her on a fairly regular basis. Cases often take me to the hospital. She's good with the kids.

Something like that, yeah. She's an incredible doctor. Good with everyone.

I've followed some of Anuvu's work, too. It's impressive.

So you know who I am then. [He quirked a brow as he took a drink from his beer. Ashley was going to have to swing by and talk to Ani later.]

I follow some of the green tech stuff. It's nice to see someone who walks the walk, unlike certain other car-making billionaires. You know, I had thought to have my old Caddie retrofitted as an electric car, until I realized that guy was the way he was.

My company doesn't do much with cars, but I do. Love cars. I convert everything I buy to electric. Be happy to take a look and see what's possible for your Caddie.

Think you could turn a '61 Caddie electric? I'd like to see that.

Of course I could. I have a '66 Chevy Nova SS that I converted.

I'll have to get you to take a look, then. I like my car, but I do like making sure I'm being responsible with it.
