It's very common where I grew up. A fourth of the population can do it. And pyrokentics is one of the standard psychic abilities along with empathy, telepathy, and telekinesis.

Generally my pyrotechics are more like crimson-colored lightning than flame per se. I do have a sword which catches fire on contact with air though! It once belonged to the jotunn Surtr, but there was this whole thing with Thor gaining the Odin force and breaking the cycle of Ragnarok and yadda yadda yadda mythoblahblah new sword for me!
