no no. the other Snake. Sorry. I wasn't clear. I don't find you to be a git, unless you start spouting off about blood purity and calling my boyfriend rubbish.
As far as blood purity goes, I have no problem with people valuing it ... it's when magic users use it to discriminate against each other that I take issue.
Oh, I see nothing wrong with valuing it either. Except that both of my parents and my favourite uncle were all Death Eaters. THAT I have problems with. And the fact that they glorified it as I was growing up? That frankly irritates me. Greatly. That there is a family story that when I was six I told my mother I was going to be the Dark Lady when I grew up? Disturbs me. They thought it was cute. I think it's utter madness.
Oh yes. The same boy I've liked since I was 7. He's one of my brother's best mates, kind, generous, loving, smart... and when I told my father, he said he was fine with me dating him, as long as I didn't wish to marry him. That kind of idiocy just cannot continue. I'm loud about my opinions. And I'm not afraid to tell my family to grow up if they don't like who I choose to care for.
It always struck me as humorous the was some ex-death eaters cling to the glory days. I wonder if they'd forgotten that they lost. Not to mention their beliefs seem so archaic.
::slight smile:: Since you were seven, eh? That's a long time to care for someone. Seems pretty serious.
How does he feel about your family, if you don't mind me prying ...
I don't find it humorous so much as pathetic, really. But then, I've lived with it my entire life, too. In some cases, they have actually forgotten, or oblivated the memories. *a small, almost pained smile* And I agree. The beliefs are archaic. And utter bullocks. My father used to tell us that our blood purity made us better at magic. Even at six I knew that wasn't right. But then, my father is... odd.
*smiles and nods* Yes. I used to sit and talk with him, or listen to him and Barty talk for hours on end. And I'd play with them all rough and tumble. We lost touch, stopped talking as much, for a long while, but lately we've reconnected, and now he's my boyfriend. I'd call it serious, yes. I've never cared for anyone else the way I care for him.
He thinks they are odd. And he wonders how I am the person I am when they are the people they are. I told him I've always tried to have an open mind and push the status quo. *smiles*
I suppose I find it funny because I don't have to listen to it coming out of the mouths of my loved ones. There was never any of this going on in my family.
::His smile widens a bit as he listens to her reminisce. He feels a sense of familiarity that stings and warms his heart at the same time::
My advice to you would be not to let your family get in the way. Either they will accept it or they wont ... in any case it doesn't sound like you share the same values with them anyway.
There is that. Lucky you. *smiles, not at all bitter, honestly*
Oh trust me, I have no intention of letting my family get in the way. My happiness is not intrinsically bound with theirs, and I learned that a long time ago. No, we do not share the same value system, though as the years go by, I find at least my mother and uncle speak less of those years as happy and positive times.
Well, the mascot for my house at school is the snake, so I've fought plenty of them too. *sighs a little* My ideals and some of the others' sometimes do not align.
Still, can't really fault someone for not taking things lying down. I've always found that taking the direct approach when solving a problem tends to work the best.
People can never mistake the point you're trying to make.
I think I scared my boyfriend just a little. But the evil git was throwing things at him. I had to do SOMETHING. Especially since it was one of my housemates.
I'm sorry, most of this probably means nothing to you... The house I'm in at school has the mascot of a Snake, so...
Hey, you were standing up for him, willing to go against your own housemates for him? You'd think he'd be touched.
You're right, it doesn't specifically but I get the general idea. A snake, huh? That's ...Slytherin, right? You're brother mentioned something about it once.
*smiles* I often wonder if I was sorted into the wrong house. Then something like the situation with Horace throwing spaghetti sauce at my boyfriend happens and I realize I'm really in the PERFECT house, fighting them from the inside out.
*laughs softly* Does it? I'm always afraid it will drive people away.

Witch huh? From an old and pure family, I assume.

Rosier and Crouch. Two old and pure families.
I don't believe in the blood purity rot, just so you know. My older brother, on the other hand, seems to cling to it.
I'm Emma Grace Crouch.

Fallen for a boy of mixed heritage?
