I need good horror movie suggestions.

Poltergeist, the original. The sequels were pretty dumbed-down, but that one was good.
Are you going for scary, or scary-plus-gory-and-lots of monsters?

I'm going for full on scary. Too many of the new gore films actually make me laugh,

Oh, I get that. Someone showed me a movie about a killer kewpie doll...*just shakes his head*
Hmm. *considers his movie collection* Nightmare on Elm Street?

Those films are kinda cheesey.

Actually some of the films I love are the old black and white ones. More about creeping you out that special effects.

Alfred Hitchcock, or the old Frankenstein movies, were some of my all-time favorites.
--And my wife's big on Stephen King movie adaptations, though she likes comedy better than horror.

Not a bad movie actually, not overly scary. Actually I laughed through a lot of it.

And I'm guessin' that isn't what you had in mind. Uh. Dog Soldiers if you like werewolf movies, is pretty good.

I totally loved that movie, the bit at the end where the guy's fistfighting with a werewolf.
