I am an exceptional thief, really.

Why would you admit it in public?

[identity profile] elfcross.livejournal.com 2008-09-14 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
If everyone followed the rules, you would not. When something disappears, you'll be one of the first suspected.

Yes, but you can still be treated as guilty if you're suspected.

Laveau, since you're calling me 'Miss'.

You look like someone I remember seeing on the television a few years back. A lot of years but still... weird.

What did you steal? I mean, if you're a good thief then you had to have stolen something. What was it?

[identity profile] greeneyedspy.livejournal.com 2008-09-14 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Then you may not be as fun as I thought.

Eh. That's what they all say.

All of the thieves who want to be recognized for their 'work'.

Practising your red flag waving at local bulls? Or, adding to the pile of bull?

The phrase "exceptional thief" is a contradiction in terms. A thief acts on desperation, sadism, greed, or compulsion. The ones that use elaborate means to carry out their crimes act out of delusion and often psychosis. There is nothing exceptional or uncommon about any of those things. A thief is a thief. Known for stealing, known for being caught.

No. Every thief is the same, but not every thief performs identically. Not every short order cook wears the same uniform, nor do all come with the same work attitude, looks, or methods. But they are all the same. All as insignificant.
