(no subject)

Murders make for poor dinner conversation.

I would imagine so.

Unless you eat dinner with my family.

Oh, I can imagine that is rather unpleasant. My mother worked for the DA's office in my city for a long while, so I grew up hearing about all the various criminals and such.

And yet that always seems to be what we end up discussing...

Taken from recent personal experience?

Because literature and the fine arts are such narrow topics.

Discussing scandals properly does take a certain imagination. I can only imagine you invite them over as the only people with sensitive palates enough to fully appreciate the wine and food properly. Or, at least, one would hope that such snobbery followed education.

Don't I know it.

[identity profile] not-my-father9.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, that would have been a better conversation sometimes.

I'd have t'agree. People focusin' on the most sordid of topics, damn shame.

Where it gets awkward-like is when th' topics of dinner and murder are irrevocably linked.

Right up there with car accidents and giving birth.
