Calling cats: a quite useless activity.

That can often depend on who, exactly, is doing the calling.

It doesn't matter who, I've found. Merely that they are being called is an affront to their dignity. At least, in my humble opinion. I suppose it might also depend on the cat. But I do believe most would rather not answer.

Yes, but that's the thing. If it's someone calling the cat feels is worthy of being listened to, they will respond. And if it is not, they will ignore it.

It is a rare occurrence, but it does happen occasionally.

Once in a blue moon, madame. And often more rarely than that. It can turn a cat downright bitter, if one isn't careful. Soon everybody sounds like they're not worth listening to.

Most of them aren't. But there are some of us who are.

I know one, and it's not as if I really have a choice in the matter in regards to her.

I seem to be when I need to. And I grant they do not often have a choice, either.
